The following information was provided to me by my good friend Ms. Asha Kiran about the existence of the following NGO in Delhi which is working closely for the benefit of sexual minorities like Gays and Lesbians . The concerned authorities had also reacted favorably to suggestions towards including cross-dressers in their sphere of activities but the response to this from Girls in and around Delhi was to say the least , lukewarm . Cross-dressers who are interested may contact this NGO . Remember that any initiative to this effect has to come from among us only .

A NOTE :

The other day I received a request that I should refrain from promoting any information about "Gays , Lesbians and Hijras" as we "hetero cross-dressers" are not like them . My take on this ... with due apologies , to all concerned is that I am just providing here , whatever little information I can find . It just so happens that almost all Indian NGO's/support-groups active in this field , work with sexual minorities only and cross-dressers do not really come under their purview . If any NGO is involved with cross-dressers then do let me know and I will gladly report about them here .

Lastly , to my concerned friend , all I would say is , however you or I , may want to keep a safe distance from them , it is in our own best interest that we help each other and fight together for our rights and for changing general public perceptions about us .

Only if we stand together , will our society (which often tends to paint us all in one color) understand and come to accept us as "normal" human beings .
