The Miss America competition exists for the purpose of providing personal and professional opportunities for young American women and promoting their voice in culture, politics and the community.  It is the world's largest source of college scholarships for women.  Visit the Miss America Organization online at www.missamerica.org.

The Miss Greater Cleveland Program

As part of the Miss America family, the Miss Greater Cleveland Scholarship Program extends the opportunity to compete to young women who live, work, or attend school in the state of Ohio.  The young woman chosen "Miss Greater Cleveland" competes in the Miss Ohio pageant, held each summer in Mansfield.

Areas of competition are Presentation and Community Achievement in Interview, Lifestyle and Fitness in Swimsuit, Artistic Expression in Talent, and Presence and Poise in Evening Wear.  Additional awards are presented at Miss Greater Cleveland in the areas of Community Service, Photogenic and Spirit.
