Whats in my CD player these days? |
Interpol "Antics" I heard one song on the radio ("Evil"), and was hooked...these guys are worth the hype...oh wait...there is no hype. They call themselves "post-punk", but I can't imagine why. Think Franz Ferdinand (They got all the hype!) toned down just a pinch. Not much to dance to, but awesome listening. One of those that gets better each time you hear it! |
The La's "The La's" I never said I only listened to new stuff...this group dates back to the 1990's. They struggled for years, got their big break, made a great record, and promptly got sick of each other and broke up. They've actually already had one of their songs covered "There She Goes", which isn't even the best song on the disc. I've been listening to this for at least 10 years, and its still one of the best I own. |
And what's in the makeup kit? |
Max Factor LipFinity (too many colors to list!) Have you tried it yet? This stuff ROCKS! Goes on like paint, comes off with any oil-based makeup remover, or even plain mineral oil. It works, too...stays on thru dinner, drinking, smoking...its as good as advertised. Its kiss-proof, too, but I won't tell you how I know that! I've got 4 or 5, and I'm thinking of picking up more... |
M.A.C Studio Tech Foundation Well, everyone else on the planet was using it, and looking great, so I decided this was one train I had to catch! I goes on great, with a very nice finish...not greasy-looking like a lot of department store stuff. Its a bit expensive, at least compared to what I'm used to, but since I don't go out that often, its a moot point...I'm so glad I switched! |
Sarah Harmer "All of Our Names" I put this in the category of "depressed female coffee house singers", but Sarah is less depressing than most. Oh, and she's from Maine, which automatically lifts her a notch or two above other ordinary mortals. I try not to listen too closely to the lyrics, because its not exactly bright and breezy, but she's an excellent songwriter backed by some very good musicians. Good music for a rainy day. |
False Eyelashes (I get mine at Wal-Mart!) I can't think of any more vital part of my eye routine. A friend of mine put them on me about 5 or 6 years ago, and I haven't gone out without them since. Yes, they're tricky to put on, and I still sometimes miss the mark, but they make so much difference. I pay about $2.50 a pair, and recycle them 2 or 3 times before they get too gummed up with adhesive. Its a cheap way to dramatically makeover your eyes. |
Smashbox Lip Liner - Nice smooth stuff...I originally bought this only because the Sephora store was pretty well out of Urban Decay, and I was NOT leaving that place empty-handed! Its soooo much nicer than the typical drug store brands...I could definitely get used to this! I paid $13 for it <gasp>...but hey, I'm worth it! |
