2 packages dry yeast 6-7 cups sifted flour 1 1/2 teaspoon salt 1egg 1 1/2 cup warm water 1/4 cup sugar 1/3 cup soft shortening butter sugar cinnamon In a large bowl dissolve yeast in warm water, let stand a few minutes then stir. Add 2 cups flour, sugar, salt and shortening to yeast mixture and mix until well blended. Beat for 2 minutes. Mix in the remaining flour until the right consistency for rolling (not too sticky and not so dry that it falls apart.) Let rise until doubled knead and roll into 2 rectangles then spread with butter sugar and cinnamon to taste. Roll the rectangles up and cut into 1 inch slices. put on a greased pan and let rise again. bake at 400* for about 20 minutes or until lightly browned. Ice with frosting (for a homemade frosting mix 2 cups powdered sugar 2 teaspoons butter and about 2 teaspoons milk be careful not to get too runny only add milk 1 teaspoon at a time) Makes 24 rolls.
