Details on Montreal (SOLD)

Great fun, wonderful sound, terrific close ratio gears.  Beautiful color and paint.  Engine bay is very, very nice.  Interior is excellent.  Four month old single DIN stereo with CD works great.  Strong engine.  No air conditioning.  Water pump bearings replaced in August 2001.

  • Current owner: Mike Nakamura, since October 1998

  • Previous owner: Steve Meith, April 1988 – October 1998.

  • First US owner: Paul Kennedy, March 1983 – April 1988.

  • Unknown history from Albino Rotondi to Paul Kennedy.

  • First owner: Albino Rotondi of Milano.

  • Original color: AR 521 (Bertone red) / Black interior

  • Restoration of exterior paint done by Paul Kennedy.

  • Restoration of trim, suspension, interior and engine by Steve Meith.

  • Steve Meith completed the restoration in 1991 at approximately 64,000 km.

  • Current mileage is approximately 83,000 km.

The following work was done during Steve Mieth’s ownership:

The engine block and heads were machined and the long block was assembled by CompTech Machine, a highly respected racing preparation facility that produces “blueprint” quality work.

New pistons & liners, valves and springs, timing chains (4), rod and main bearings, seals, hoses, Perma-Tune CD units, clutch, eyelid vacuum motors, clutch master cylinder, brake master cylinder, Koni shocks, U-joints, donut, trailing arm bushings, five Pirelli P-6 (205/60 X 14), marker lights, taillights, front parking lights, front trim, battery, Blaupunkt radio and red wool carpets.

Rebuilt or reconditioned heads, starter, alternator, fuel injection pump, distributor, flywheel, radiator, wiring harness, leather interior and five wheels (powder coated).

Since then, I have done the following:

Installed column switch (used), headlight relays, added Cibie headlights, Stongard clear bra, Optima battery with trickle charger, rebuilt thermostatic actuator, fuel tank gasket, two new fuel pumps (still have old units), new fuel lines, Dynograph, rebuilt steering box, replaced water pump bearings, stainless steel brake lines, master brake cylinder, front spoiler, new distributor cap, new spark plug wires and in-dash CD / cassette / radio with new speakers.

Stereo: Sanyo FXCD-500.  Detachable face CD, cassette receiver.  180 total watts.  New 4 X 6 co-ax speakers.  This is one of the few (or only) single DIN in-dash unit with CD and cassette.

Includes extra front carpets, spare distributor cap ($200 - $300), Blaupunkt radio (removed in August 2001), Ungo box (removed), owner’s manual, parts book, several tools, receipts, car cover, dyno printout and other documentation.  Drawings of gasket.  Extra interior material.

This car has a Washington State Assigned VIN and Control Number and is not subject to DOT or EPA issues.

Nitpicks:

Finish on interior door handles flawed.  Steering wheel is not perfect.  Paint is only 98%.  Noisy throw out bearing.  Lower spoiler edge is scrapped.  Some engine parts have been chrome plated or powder coated by the previous owner and may not suit everyone’s taste.

Slow wiper speed does not always work.  Battery box is not stock.

This is an excellent example for club events and recreational driving.

Price: $ 26,950
