Wonder and Awe

For me personally, what never fails to fill me with wonder and awe is the innocence and impressionability of newborn babies. It amazes me that so many basic components of life like amino acids, proteins, etc. come together to form a human being that is independent. Also, the impressionability of newborn infants never ceases to amaze me. It is awe-inspiring that a baby can be raised and instilled with so many different varieties of ideals and values. To me, a baby is like a ball of clay-when a baby is born, the parents begin at that moment to mold the child into what he or she will grow up to become. However, unlike a ball of clay, these babies will eventually use their independent thought processes to decide whether or not they agree with what their parents have taught them. They are able to make decisions for themselves. This impressionability coupled with independence and the ability to make personal decisions cause me to stop and appreciate life and God whenever I see a baby.
