The Mid-Carolina High School Band received the Outstanding Performance Award (OPA) for the forth time.  The OPA is the highest award given to a band by the South Carolina Band Directors Association (SCBDA).  A band must be well rounded in order to receive this award.  They must score a superior at either a preliminary state competition or concert festival, have individuals that make the region band or all state band, and also have individuals and ensembles score superiors at the solo & ensemble festival.
