
Take trouble calls and diagnose area of problem i.e. (Host, Application, Datapac, Circuit, User, and Equipment). Clear problem from terminal if possible, dispatch Field Service Technician, and report it if necessary. Follow-up on trouble reported to Third parties. Maintain current working knowledge of all new Network equipment. Interface with customers when required regarding projects, installs, problems. Investigate and spot protocol violations and irregularities on Frame Relay, ATM, 3270, SNA, and X.25 systems. Receive, Log and Diagnose trouble calls from client contacts. Configure full Network systems. Configure equipment for installs and replacements. Assist Field Technicians with addressing and intervention with hosts. Assist Field Technicians on all Dow Jones equipment. Recommend methods of Networking. Report software problems on Engineering level to Supervisors. Test new equipment and Network methods. Update and maintain both in-house and customer databases and configurations with respect to their workstations.
