More EV Encloser Plans
The Aristocrat
The Patrician
The Baronet
The Regency
The Georgian
Comming soon.
The Aristocrat is the most flexible and ended up being the most popular of EV's enclosers.  It was made to house any of the 12" drivers EV made, and could fit the 15"ers as well.  In a corner it produced marvelous bass depth and quality.
The Baronet was designed for the smallest of EV's woofers, the 8"ers.  But what is so remarkable is the treble extention a single driver can produce, as well as the depth of bass when these are placed in a corner.  Later EV produced some 8" triaxual drivers which would be ideal in this encloser.  I would love to try these as surround sound speaker encloser with the SP8B's in them.
This encloser was designed for EV's 15" drivers.  If the EV infromation is correct you should enjoy, "unusual efficiency in the 30 Hz region."  This encloser also enjoys low distortion ratings with the vintage EV driver such as the 15trx driver.
This is a very interesting encloser to say the least.  Utilising the Klipsch K type corner horn construction, this is a very efficient speaker system, I would say somewhere on the order of 106dbs w/m.  The benefit of this encloser is that all the drivers go for the least amount of money on ebay, so much so that after doing a bit of research I myself am entertianing the idea of making this encloser.
It has a very unique midbass driver that handles frequencies above 300Hz, one diaphragm feeding two horns, one back horn 68" long, and a very small front horn.  This provides an acoustical crossover thereby eliminating the need for an electrical one,  and this midbass compression horn is electronically crossed over at 3500Hz with a T-35 tweeter (my favorite tweeter).  This is intriguing to say the least, and I have seen these drivers go for peanuts on ebay.  All this time I thought they were cheap PA horns, I never had a clue they were made for home audio.
Here is a small portion of the designer notes contained herein,  I just have to share this as I feel very strongly the same way.

"The character of the sound delivered is totally different from that heard in prior systems, due principally to the fact that all driving components are compression operated.  This feature provides hitherto unobtainable effiency.  Efficiency, in a way is criterion of speaker excellence, for a system which is 100% efficient possesses little distortion and approaches prefection itself."

My only apprehension with regard to this system is the rear wave and the front wave of this midbass driver.  How can they possibly be in phase with each other,  thereby causing some sort of peak or valley at their combining.   Well with less than $200.00 total investment I feel it is worth a shot.  I haven't looked that closely at the Klipsch corner horn to say how much this encloser it like it.

I will be posting datasheets of the drivers.
