I am looking for a plane to carry the wife, kids, dog, and bicycle. Here are my selection criteria:
- 150 kts cruise
- 4 seats minimum
- Less than $60,000
- Needs to be complete and flying
- Some restoration work ok (new panel, upholstery, paint, tires can do).
- Taildraggers and experimentals are fine (maybe even preferred)
- Full IFR not necessary
These are the aircraft I am considering.
The C210 would have to be my top choice for three reasons: Useful load, performance, ability to fit my Pitts under it's wing in a hangar:
Bellanca: old model Viking, Cruisemaster
Piper: Comanche 250
Cessna: early model 210
Mooney: M20C or E
Beechcraft: straight 35 through P-35
Tops on my list assuming someone else pays the bills (and I still have to pay for gas):
lancair 4, 4-turbine, or Columbia
Stallion
RV-10
Cirrus
NemesisNXT (maybe I can fit the dog?)
