Will sat in his kitchen sipping coffy with the business section. It was rather strange, he hadn't seen jack or grace all day. He had actually gotten some peace and quiet! He sat back in his chair smiling to himself. Of cource nothing this good could last. He took another drink from his coffe mug before an over excited Jack burst through the door.
"You. Love. Me!" he said in an 'I know something you don't' voice.
Will spit out the coffe he had been drinking. What the hell was he talking about!
"Or, at least you will" He smirked at the reaction he had gotn "We are going to have lunch with cher!!" He annoinced bouncing up and down.
"Oh my god! Where? When?..." Wil got up ignoring his now coffe soaked suit." How?" he asked suspiciously.
"Uh.. Well you've got to do something first" he said sheepishly.
"Oh no, I'm not doing that again" he said crossing his arms.
"Not that silly" jack said wacking him in the side rolling his eyes "Well uh, we've gt t g un gy copls shw" He muttered.
"What was that?" Will asked looking skeptikly at him.
"We've got to go on a gay couples show!"
"What! NO WAY" He declaired turning to go back to his coffee.
"Oh come on will!" Jack whined "You know this is something I've wanted forever"
"I said no and no it stays!"
"Thats it" Jack said exasperatedly "Time for the heavy artillary" He got down on his knees giving Will puppy dog eyes. "Please please please please please please please please please please please please ple-"
"Alright alright!" Will said throwing his hands in the air in defeat. Jack smirked. "God, go find yourself a leash and leave me alone!" Will said exasperated at jacks childish behavoir.
"Thanks Will, Youve made me the happiest girl alive!" He said and then skipped out of the appartment.

Karen sashayed into Grace Adler Designs around her usual check in time of 12:00pm. Upon entering the office, though, she did not find Grace, but Jack sprawled across the boss-ladies desk, singing ‘I Got You Babe’ at the top of his lungs. Completely unaffected by the display set before her, she walked nonchalantly over to the desk and set her martini down.

“What’cha doin, Jacky?” she asked, taking a seat.

“Hey, Karen,” he turned on the desk, efficiently knocking all of the papers off, “How would you like to be part of a studio audience?”

“Why, I’ve never done *that* before!” Karen said childishly. “Would I get out of working these awful hours even for a day?”

“Well, I suppose, but we’ll be taking your slave-driver with us,” Jack shrugged.

“Well, what’s this studio audience thing about, anyway?”

“We~ell…” Jack stretched cat like before jumping off of the desk and presenting himself dramatically, “Will and I are going to be competing on a gay couples show, and we’re allowed to bring two guests!”

There was a pause, in which Karen looked confused and Jack, expectant.

Finally, Karen broke the silence, “You and Will are a couple?”

Jack laughed loudly (maybe a little TOO loudly) and placed his hands on his hips, “No, silly. We’re just pretending, so we can be on the show! We get to go for lunch with Cher, if we win. All we have to go through is three different rounds and complete a challenge in each of them, against two other couples. And then, ta-da! date with the queen of the universe herself.”

She raised an eyebrow at that. For a moment, she looked very un-Karen like. Her base instincts told her that there was simply no way Jack and Will could pretend to be a couple on television without something happening.

“Well, way to go, honey!” Karen transformed suddenly back into her normal self, “I would wish you luck, but there’s no way you’re going to lose, right?”

“Right!” Jack laughed cutely.

I guess we’ll just have to see what happens next… Nothing I can do about it. You’re supposed to let nature take its course, anyway…

“No matter how traumatic the outcome.”

“What, Karen?”

“Nothing, Jacky. Nothing at all.”

The competition was only days away. Jack and Will were sitting in the living room of Will's apartment discussing winning and Cher.

"Oh God this will be so exciting! Okay, here's the deal; We win. You and I break up afterwards, and I - get to eat dinner with Cher all by myself!" Jack said happily while clapping.

Will rolled his eyes. "Okay number one...no. And number two, we don't even know if we're going to win, so don't get your hopes up Pippy fagstocking."

"Now that's anothing, Will. If we're going to pretend to be a couple... lose the 'tude. You're gonna have to be a lot nicer to me. Treat me as if I am your queen."

"Jack, you are a queen."

Jack smiled shyly. "Thank you. Alrighty, now. Couples usually know everything about each other, and are always lovey dovey, touchy- feely, blah blah blah. Tell me I'm pretty."

"You're as pretty as Britney Spears on drugs."

Jack tilted his head and thought for a moment. "No, I think you could do better than that. Now touch me innapropiately, and maybe kiss me." He didn't mean to say that last line but it had slipped out.

Will nearly spit out the gulp of water he just sipped out of his bottle. "Wait, wait. I'll pretend that you're my boytoy and tell you you're pretty but that is where I cross the line."

"I know Will. I don't like this either. Just the thought of being your...boytoy makes me want to hurl but we gotta do this. We WILL win the competition and I WILL have dinner with Cher damnit!" Jack screeched. "Now you kiss me or I will kiss you!"

"All right! All right! Geez, do you really need to screech like that though? I swear, my left ear is doing deag."

"Will!"

"Okay!" Will slowly scooted closer Jack as they both closed their eyes. Will felt like he was living in slow motion. Just as their lips were about to touch, Grace came barging in.

"Hey, sweetie." She walked right up to Will and gave him a quick peck on the head. Jack stood up angrily and walked to the door."

"And another thing, Will." Jack bega. "You're going to need to get a divorce from Grace for just a little bit." And he left at that.

Will sat in his apartment, staring at the TV. He wasn't actually sure what was on; he was too busy thinking about what Jack had said to focus on anything.

'What does he mean, get a divorce from Grace? Why would he say that?' Will rubbed his eyes tiredly. He knew he clung to Grace just a little too much, but that didn't mean that Jack could yell at him about it.

He tried to pay attention to the television, but it just wasn't happening. Will sighed and then got up from his seat, walking to the door and out into the hall. He stopped when he saw Jack sitting at his little Cafe Jaques table.

"Hello." Jack said snippily, not looking at Will. He sipped a bit of his coffee.

"Hello." Will suddenly felt subdued. He sighed again and sat down on the chair across from Jack. He looked at the other man, then down at his hands. Jack, hands. Jack, hands. Jack's hands, his own.

"What?!" Jack finally snapped, glaring at Will. "What is it? Come to tell me that you're too ashamed of me to be my pretend gay boyfriend? Is that it?" His voice started to go to sonic levels. "Well listen to me Wilma! I will not be made a fool of-"

"A little too late for that," Will cut in. Jack huffed and folded his arms, snapping his head away from Will, clearly intent on ignoring the lawyer.

Will sighed, wondering if he was becoming a little too melodramatic, and folded his hands together, staring down at them once more. "Look, Jackie...it's not that I don't want to do the game show with you. It's just...things have changed so much. I remember when you were my best friend-"

"Yah, back in ol' Queens College. I remember that- you were in the closet like a pair of catfish."

"That...made no sense Jackie."

"I've had a lot of coffee."

"Ah, well. Um... so. What happened to us Jackie? Why do we fight so much? Is it because we grew apart? Is it because you leech money and clothing and food off of me? Is it because of Grace?"

"Well I certainly don't leech clothing off of you. How do you expect me to fit in them if they're at least four sizes too big?" Jack grinned brightly at him, knowing that Will would catch the fat joke. Will grinned back. "So, we're good lady dearest?"

Will grinned down at his hands before he looked back up at Jack. "Yeah, we're good."

"Great!" And with that, Jack picked up his cup, stood from the table, and went into his apartment. Then the door opened again and he stuck his head back out. "You're my best friend again, call me every five minutes."

Will shook his head, still smiling, and went back to his apartment. He was just inside the door when he heard the screeching- "AND DON'T FORGET TO COME OVER FOR PRACTICE!!"
