History:
After Kyana's personal experiance with the D'Derydaa and other Romulan vessels, she took special inturest in designing a ship for overcoming the weaknesses she discovered and appealing to her personality as well as her flair for power. As the Vice Admiral of Intelligence opperations, Kyana was able to divert considerable resources to the Romulan Star Empire's top secret black opps technology base, fueling construction to a record speed in the way of starship production. Altering the standard TSR drive system, Kyana hoped produced a ship that was able move like a fighter, and have a high warp speed for it's great size.
Nearly a month of intensive labor under antigravity conditons bellow the sea of toxic clouds on Thedus VIII produced the
Sol Suvanyard. Amoung it's systems was the standard cloaking device. An extra sigularity reactor allows the ship to balance the power fluctuations that seem to come standard with the device, allowing Kyana to cloak without draining her power supply. This extra source of power also gives the Sol Suvanyard the ability to uncloak quickly by diverting power to stabalizing arrays that balance the reactors and prevent stress to the ship and possible overloads.
The only system that did not meet Kyana's demands were the weapon systems. Hopping to limit the energy lost in directing fire through a turret or focusing attachment, she ordered guns be placed in stationary possitions around the ship, hoping to give direct feeds into the main reactor. However, after the massive weight of the engines needed to propell the craft (thus limiting it's agility considerably). Going for the next best thing, Kyana sacrificed the mobility for power, each weapon only having a 90* arch of firing from where it is mounted.
Even with the help of the being Armus, Kyana requires telepathic silence to focus. To that effect, the elimonated her crew. Selecting the best pilots, gunners and engineers she could get her hands on, she butchered their brains, wiring their bodies into the ship pemenently. This allows Kyana to probe into the remains of their minds, and from there, into the ship's computer. However, if the ship were to take heavy damage, repairs are
next to impossible.
It's wings include variable control nacelle, which are tucked away to limit lighting and warp emissions that can harm the environment and create detection. This special type of nacelle, and in the way that the warp power is guided through the body of the ship give it exeptional control and power for it's massive size. Directly under these "wings" torpeedo launchers are mounted in a ring around energy discharge vents. This entire chassis can be rotated, allowing the ship to fire torpeedos more quickly, on par with the advanced weapon systems weilded by the federation. Unfortunatly, these shafts can only fire once, and when it discharges it's torpeedo, the entire system must be cleaned out and reloaded. After these supplies have been exhausted (14 shots), the ship relies on it's two remaining launchers at the standard Romulan-slowness.
