Well this is kinda my tribute to the dark side of my mind.... I know you thought I was just this sunny, cheery, bubbly little doll right? haaa maybe I should do a page dedicated to the lighter side of my mind cause the dark side always seems to be more obvious hehehe anyway it's October now, this has always been my favorite time of year!! the fresh crisp air... cool nights.. the sweet smell of fall...
And about the best part of all -Halloween!! not only does all the candy go on sale!! Mmmmm ....but so do all the HORROR movies!! which just happen to be one of my favorite all year things ...everything from The House of Wax to Friday the 13th ....anything creepy or gorey it's EVERYWHERE in October all the brain eating ghouls and axe weilding psychopaths... blood capsules exploding everywhere it's enough to make me park my butt in front of the TV and not get up again till November!! I don't know where this comes from but I think I've always loved this stuff!!!!!
the first scary movie I think I ever saw was called Ghost Story, my mother's boyfriend at the time took me and my sister to see this when I was 8 (which made her more like 6)-nice guy huh? I thought it was a great movie though - when I was 9 a babysitter took us to see The Thing at the drive-in (I know you're thinking I might as well have been raised by wolves right?) hehehe so now not only am I hooked on horror but I'm also in love with the drive-in (hey 'Joe Bob' you don't have a long lost daughter do you??)- it could be worse right? I'm lucky enough to live close to two of the few drive in theaters left in NY.... anyway whatever causes this sick love I don't know but I thought I'd share it with you - along with a list of some of my favorite movies and links to some creepy, fun stuff
soooo.. pop the popcorn and grab the chocolate - here's a dozen or so of my favorite "horror" movies in no particular order!! a frightening combination of creepy, cheezy, horror - bloody, gorey, slashers and bizarrely hysterical horror/comedy... so RUN don't walk to the video shop and rent them today!! hehehe for more info about a movie just click on the title to go to the IMDb page for each film ~ENJOY!!
Night of the Living Dead ~they're coming to get you barrrrbra... a group of people baracade themselves in an old farm house in an attempt to avoid becoming dinner for radioactive zombies, hungry for human flesh!! -a great old black & white zombie movie
The Exorcist (original) ~I think EVERYONE has seen this one.. if not then you should climb
on outta that box you live in and prepare to be possesed
The Omen (part 1) ~further proof that you should never ride your tricycle in the house!! -great creepy movie about a little boy switched at birth by a man who's wife gives birth to a dead baby... only to discover the replacement is the son of satan
House of 1000 Corpses ~written and directed by Rob Zombie... I'm always sceptical of any horror movie newer than like 1985 but I thought this one was great!! - a whole bunch of totally fucked up characters and hell it's rated R for strong sadistic violence/gore sexuality and language - what more could you ask for?! plus they did a real good job of giving it more of a 70's feel
House of Wax ~well ya can never go wrong with Vincent Price either... after his wax museum is burned down he resorts to replacing his figures with human bodies covered in wax
American Gothic ~ohhh maaan this movie is freaky-weird in a creepy, disturbing kinda way!!
The Evil Dead ~5 friends go for a vacation in the woods where they discover passages from the book of the dead and one by one become zombies which can only be killed by total dismemberment. -yikes beware of the vines!!
The Entity ~supposedly based partially on a true story of a woman who is stalked and sexually molested by some kind of ghost/demon -one of the only movies to actually creep me out... if you're looking for an "afraid to close your eyes" kinda movie, this is it!!
Motel Hell ~"it takes all kinds of critters to make Farmer Vincent's fritters" can you guess what happens here?
Halloween ~pretty much the first of the big teen slasher movies and probably the best... Michael Myers escapes from the mental insitution he's been locked away in for the last 15 years after killing his sister when he was 6 years old, and heads back to his home town to terrorize it's residents, and one girl in particular
Nosferatu ~if you can handle silent movies and you're into vampires check this out... it's awesome!!
The Ring ~I don't know why but I really liked this movie - it kinda creeped me out
Habit ~a more modern vampire movie ...one of the best ones I've seen
Attack of the Killer Tomatoes ~not really horror (more of a spoof on low budget sci-fi) but great for a laugh!! I've been in love with this movie for as long as I can remember... it makes me laugh for the entire 87 minutes
Friday the 13th (part 1) ~this is by far the BEST Friday the 13th movie!! in my opinion that is a must see for anyone who's kinda new to horror movies - I'm sure plenty of people would boo & hiss at that opinion hehehe
Ghost Story ~the movie that got me hooked on horror... it is just what the title says
The Watcher In The Woods -not exactly horror but a GREAT creepy, spooky movie... especially for like pre-teens.... a good for the whole family kinda movie
