The theme of this act is the battle of Octavius and Antony to Brutus and Cassius. Octavius, Antony, Brutus, and Cassius were all friends at one point. Brutus and Cassius want to kill Caesar. " I know where I will wear this dagger then." ( Act 1 Scene 3 Line 89) This shows how Cassius and Brutus wanted to kill Caesar. Cassius and Brutus and about 60 senators killed Brutus on March 15th, which he was stabbed to death. Caesar says to Brutus, " Et tu Brute-Then fall Caesar!" ( Act 3 Scene 1 Line 77) Caesar falls to the ground and dies.Octavius and Antony start planning revenge for Caesar. There is a list of conspirators who will be put to death. This all soon takes place in Philippi. In the battle Cassius aske Pindarus to kill him, also in the battle Brutus asks Strato to hold the sword and Brutus runs into it. After all of this happens Octavius and Antony win the battle. All of this ties into the theme. |
