Julius Caesar Act 5
Personal Impressions
ACT 1: 5. Marcullus seems jealous of Caesar. He doesn't think people should rejoice over Caesar. I don't think he even really likes him in fact. He thinks that when the commoners talk about Caesar they are cruel to Rome. He thinks Caesar shouldn't have a holiday, either.
2. The significance of this scene is to plan the death of Caesar. The play would be like without this is you wouldn't have part of the plot. The plan is what makes the scene exciting. You have a plan before killing someone.
6. Cassius and Casca are in cahoot together to kill Caesar. They are supposed to be freinds with Caesar and they hang out with him. Cassius is the one who is jealous and you can tell he doesn't want Caesar in power.
ACT 2: 2. The significance of this scene is all the conspirators are getting a plan completely together. The play would be like without this is you wouldn't know what is on the minds of the conspirators. You are able to find out exactly who  Caesar's true friends really are. You can tell how much they want to kill him.
1. In this scene Calpurnia is scared Caesar will get hurt. She had a horrible nightmare about Caesar in front of his statue bleeding. She wants him to stay home. Decius comes in and persuades him out of it by saying his blood is for the people. Caesar disregards anything his wife says and goes to the senate.
4. Brutus says "That every like is mot the same." This line explains to me that he could be hinting to Caesar. He might still love him. The few lines in this scene show that people are faking that they love him. This line also shows that Caesar should see who really likes him.
5. The idea of this scene is to show who is going to kill Caesar. The paper talks about every conspirator in the plot to kill him. Artemidorous knows to give it to him right away. Caesar need to see this paper to live.
ACT 3: 3.Caesar: Why didn't you listen to the soothsayer or to Artemidorous? Antony: Why, really are you going to Brutus's side? Cassius: Why do you want Popillus to come back to Rome? Brutus: How can you say you are Caesar's friend? Brutus: When Caesar yelled " Et tu, Brute" ( Act 3 Scene 1 Line 79) How did you feel about what he said?
7. I'm happy for Antony. He gets on the good side of Brutus, but when he talks at the funeral he shows what the conspirators did was wrong. Antony reads the will to the commoners and they get the gardens to walk around in. Now he seems to have the commoners against the conspirators.
ACT 4: 6. Antony is very honest to Octavius. He wants to let Octavius know about Lepidus since Antony thinks he won't be a good leader. Since they are friends Antony knows to be honest. Antony reallly tells how he feels about Lepidus. Octavius listens to Antony about it.

4. Antony says " These men shall die; their names are pricked." This line explains to me that the conspirators are going to die. Antony and Octavius are going over who is going to die. You know Cassius and Brutus are ones pricked for death. This scene shows the death of men.
1. In this scene Cassius and Brutus get into an arguement. They decide to go to Philippi to Mark Antony's and Octavius's army. Also, Cassius's wife killed herself. A poet tries to talk to Brutus and Cassius to give them advice, but Brutus disregards him. As Brutus is reading and everyone is asleep Caesar's ghost comes to him. He says he will be at Philippi tomorrow.
ACT 5: 5. The action of this scene is right before the battle. I like how the generals talk before it begins. When they all talk to each other it's bickering.  This will make the battle more serious.
2. The significance of this scene is the death of Casius and Titinius. You wouldn't know why they killed thamselves if it wasn't in the paly. You wouldn't see how Cassius felt about supposedly Titinius being captured. Even why Titinius killed himself.
4. Luclius says " Brutus, my country's friend; know me from Brutus." This line explains to me Lucilius is helping Brutus. He is brave enough to fake he is Brutus, so Brutus can escape. This shows how people can be fake.
7. I actually feel sorry for Brutus. He has to deal with losing the battle. He doesn't want to be captured by the enemy. Then knowing he has to must feel awful. He must have a sorrowful heart.
