Robyn Peterman and Steve Zahn met while starring together in the national touring production of "Bye Bye Birdie" in 1992. Two years later they were married.
Since studying theater at Northwestern University, Robyn has spent most of her professional career on the stage, most recently on Broadway in "Damn Yankees." She has also had starring roles in the national touring companies of "A Chorus Line" and "42nd Street." She made her feature film debut in 1998 in "Sour Grapes", which, coincidentally, opened the same week as Steve's "Object of my Affection". Robyn had one rather amazing connection to the film from the beginning: her father is the founder of the J. Peterman clothing company, ironically satirized by Larry David, who was both co-creator and writer for the tv show "Seinfeld", as well as writer and director of "Sour Grapes". David had no knowledge of the connection until the cast got together for the first read-through of the script. Filming for "Sour Grapes" began directly after Robyn finished taping the ABC pilot "Boys and Girls."
Robyn and Steve currently reside on a farm in New Jersey with their son, Henry James, born April 3, 2000.
