"Happy, Texas" was the talk of the 1999 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah this January. The film started a bidding war that rose to over 10 million dollars, but Miramax landed the coveted flick for a mere 2.5 million. Steve was honored with the Dramatic Jury's Special Award for Comedic Performace for his role in the hilarious tale of two men mistaken for gay beauty pageant consultants. "Happy , Texas" is set for release in October.
I am now also desperately searching for an item that I didn't realize existed until recently. Apparently Steve appeared on the Conan O'Brien Show last summer to promote "Out Of Sight". If you happen to have a copy of this appearance, please contact me at mediachick@mailcity.com.
Filming in Australia for "Mission: Impossible II" has been pushed to April due to problems with the script. Our dynamic Steve will be charming the screen in it, along with "Out Of Sight" co-star Ving Rhames, and Tom Cruise. The film is being produced by Cruise-Wagner Productions and Paramount Pictures.
I'm still on a desperate search for a copy of Steve on "The Rosie O'Donnell Show"! The appearance aired in October of 1996. Should you know the whereabouts of this coveted item, PLEASE let me know!!
"Out Of Sight" arrived on video on January 5th! If you didn't catch this film in the theatres last summer, pick it up at your local video store. Steve's character, 'Glenn Michaels', is hilarious and the entire cast is top-notch. This is the perfect movie to add to your 'Zahn Collection'!
"You've Got Mail" is now open in wide release! Steve's character, 'George Pappas', doesn't have much bulk, but he is around and does have a couple of funny lines. As always, Steve is quite charming, as is the entire film, so it's definitely worth checking out! For more information, visit the "You've Got Mail" webiste.
Filming was scheduled to begin in Los Angeles on December 7, 1998, for the movie, "Nurse Betty", directed by Neil LaBute. Steve is joined by Morgan Freeman, Greg Kinnear, Chris Rock and Renee Zellweger. No plot summary has been found yet, but the film is linked to Gramercy Pictures, PolyGram Filmed Entertainment and Propaganda Films.
Filming recently wrapped on a production of William Shakespeares classic, "Hamlet". Steve appears as 'Rosencrantz' in the film version of this classic play. Co-stars include Kyle MacLachlan, Bill Murray, and "Reality Bites" friend, Ethan Hawke. Currently, no release date has been set.
I once received an email from a fan suggesting that Steve should consider doing "voices". Well, guess what? Steve will provide one of the voices in the comedy "Stuart Little", based on E.B. White's novel. In this Columbia Pictures Corporation/Sony Pictures Entertainment film, a heroic and debonair mouse with human qualities faces some comic misadventures while searching for his lost bird friend. Steve is in good company with other voices being provided by Geena Davis, Michael J. Fox, Estelle Getty, Dabney Coleman and Gene Wilder. The currently scheduled release date is now December 17, 1999.
