The vehicle markings of the Brigade "Hermann Goering" had a special feature. They painted a white disk on the left fender of vehicles. They used a white disk as a clock's face with an indicator pointing to the company or battery. The indicator was red for antiaircraft battery and green for all other units. In this case they painted a white disk in front of the sidecar in the motorcycle combination and the indicator pointed to 10 o'clock, the marking of 10. Kradschuetzen-Kompanie in the brigade. |

The
famous BMW developed R75 for military use in 1940. The BMW R75 with sidecar
was used for motorcycle rifle troops in early war time period. The motorcycle
combination had one horizontal opposed-type 2-cylinder 745 CC OHV engine
and a sophisticated rear shaft to drive the wheel of sidecar. The combination
had good performance over terrain but also had a high production cost.
The Volkswagen type 82 light personnel car replaced the motorcycle combination
in motorcycle rifle troops gradually since 1942. The marks of BMW can
be seen on the fender of sidecar.
