"I'll have a California lemonade please." a suave business man asked.
"Coming up. Z, get the man a #4 special." A tall, dark skinned woman took a shaker from under the bar, took two bottles, did a
few tricks and poured them both in. She then took one lemon and one lime, cut and squeezed them, shook it twice and did a few
more tricks. "That'll be four-fifty." she shouted over the blaring music as she flipped out a glass, filled it with ice and poured the
drink in.
"Good work Z, you're getting better at this." another woman said giving a customer his drink.
"I thought so. Hey Schlang, I'm gonna have to get off soon, the sun's been down for a while now." Xierra said looking out of the
window.
"I got it sweetheart. I could use ya though, there's a line all around the block just waitin' ta get in, but I won't keep ya from doing
what ya gotta do. Aah, here comes Darren. Good luck and be back by midnight." Xierra got out from under the bar and walked
to the door where she bumped into a man about her height with the strangest eyes she had ever seen.
"I'm sorry." she apologized.
"My fault chere." the man said in a deep voice. She took her coat and left. He walked through pushing his way past to the bar.
"You're a newbie. Haven't seen you around" Schlang said to him.
"Oui, what might you serve here." She gestured to a large board behind her as she served up another drink.
"Hmm, one Long Island Ice tea." he said. "You got it." Schlang took two bottles, one vodka, one tequila, from behind her, twirled
them around in her hands and squirted them in. "Gin, rum and triple sec." she said to herself while she took at the bottles with
those labels. She added two more ingredients, shook and served. As he took a sip of his drink, a strange noise emanated from his
belt. He took out a small red badge with an X marked on it and tapped on it twice. He gulped down his drink and left.

"Xierra, it's been a lifetime." a tall, pale man with white almost blonde hair started.
"Really, wish it were two." she said with a glare.
"You know what I absolutely adore about you? Your willingness to never give up." He jumped down off the crate he had been
standing on and walked towards her.
"You better stay back Rex, unless you want this piece of wood making its mark on you." said Xierra, pointing to the tip of the
stake she was holding.
"I've known you to long Xierra, you wouldn't do that now would you?" he said with a tilt of his head.
"You know that you won't be able to beat me." She stood in a ready fighting stance and said,
"Now that I don't know, at least not until I try." She lunged at him, he moved to the side, she turned and gave him a spin kick,
which he blocked and returned, making her fall to the ground.
"I told you, you can't beat me." he said, climbing on top of her and throwing the stake to one side. "Looks like I finally get to
make you mine tonight." His face changed within a second, it looked evil, demonic and when he bore his teeth, his canines had
grown double their original size.
She screamed but not a scream like any other, for a brief period the air in between them became distorted and he was flung back
meters across the room.
"I may not be able to beat you but I can definitely hold my own." said Xierra as she got to her feet.
"Your getting stronger." he said. "You didn't expect me to stand still now did you?" Just then, a loud noise grew from outside
followed by an eye squinting blue light. A short man in yellow spandex, an ethnic woman with white hair and a woman in green
and yellow all jumped out of a large black jet and attacked a group of Rex's acquaintances. Xierra watched as the two groups
fought then became amazed as the woman with white hair seemed to be throwing lightning bolts at them.
Rex stood up and ran towards Xierra, tackling her to the ground and covering her mouth. "This time, you won't get the jump on
me." he said before he bit into her neck.
She mumbled and he jumped off her. Startled she looked up and saw the woman in the green and yellow attire swinging him
around in the air.
"Didn't ya mamma ever teach ya any manners?" the woman asked. "Goin' up." she said as she flew up, breaking away the ceiling
at the same time.
Xierra stood up and ran outside where she saw a blue monster or thing or beast, fighting side by side with a man with some sort
of visor over his eyes, a man constantly shooting playing cards and a woman that seemed to be throwing away her attackers
without moving a muscle.
"This has got to stop, they might get hurt, though it doesn't look like it." She ran into the heat of the battle, kicking and punching
her way there. Who ever these guys are, looks like they want to help. She thought to herself.
"Incoming!" a rough voice shouted to her. Xierra ducked narrowly missing a male body that flew overhead, she turned, broke off
a piece of wood from a nearby crate and staked the man through his heart then closed her eyes as he burst into dust.
"If I may so so mesamis, these guys don't seem to be gettin' down for de count!" a man in a long brown trench coat shouted to his
colleagues.
"You're right Gambit." the man with lasers coming out of his eyes shouted back.
Xierra closed her eyes and clapped her hands together Please let this work. As she pulled her hands apart a strange white light
with a green aura in the shape of a ball began to grow. She opened her eyes and that same light glowed from inside them. "I
would move right now if I were you." she shouted to her allies. She raised her hands and shot the ball in the direction of her
enemies making them, like their friend, burst into dust.
"Shit." the short man said in amazement. Xierra turned to face them and managed to blurt out a "thank you" before passing out.

"I've run some tests but it will be awhile before I get the results back, my guess is she passed out from exhaustion." Beast
explained to his fellow X-men. "Also she has two incision marks on her neck, about two inches apart."
"Vampire?" Ororo asked.
" It could well be. We saw what happened to those men when she did whatever it was she did, vampires would definitely be my
first guess." said Beast, sideing with Ororo.
"Vampires are supposed to be mythological." Jean said unsure. "You know that we have evidence that proves otherwise." Beast
said.
"But my question to you Beast is, what was she doing there?" the professor said camly.
"That I am not sure of, she could have been attacked." Beast said, thinking aloud.
"Yeah, but what sane woman goes walking around the docks by herself." Logan said while clipping his cigar with his teeth.
"Maybe she was chased there." said Jean. "Don't think so, she knew exactly what to do." Scott interveined.
"So what are you insinuating Scott?" asked the professor.
"I'm insinuating that maybe she went looking for those guys."
"The only way we can find out is by asking her." said the professor. "True." Ororo said with a nod. "Has anyone seen Remy?"
*
Xierra awoke to find Remy sitting next to her, with his coat covering him and sleeping in a chair. She sat herself up and looked
around noticing she was in a medical bay of sorts. She looked at Remy and smiled, she didn't know him from a bar of soap but
damn was he cute.
It was about 10 'o clock in the morning and the sun was shining on her face, which was something she enjoyed very much. As she
stared at Remy she was sure she had seen him before, but couldn't quite place where.
She slowly moved her hand forward and placed it on his arm. Remy awoke with a start then looked around.
"I'm sorry to wake you." Xierra said softly. He sat up and rubbed his eyes,
"S' okay, Remy never been a deep sleeper." he said in a groggy voice.
"So your name is Remy, I'm Xierra." she said, extending her hand.
"Remy Le Beau." he said, accepting it.
"Where am I?" said Xierra.
"The Xavier Institute's infirmary."
"You took me to a school?" she said puzzled.
"Not just any school, dis is a school for de gifted."
"The gifted?"
"Mutants, but dis not be de time te get inta t'ings." Remy said. Just then Beast and the professor entered.
"Looks like our patient is no longer comatose." said the big blue furball. "Dr. Henry McCoy." Beast said, noticing her strange
expression. "and I am.."
"Professor Charles Xavier" said Xierra, finishing the professer's sentence.
"Yes, how did you.."
"Know that, it's a.." she turned to Remy then back to the professer, "gift, of mine."
The professor hovered up to her. "You're telepathic?" he asked.
"I believe that's what they call it and excuse me for prying but I make it a point to know who I'm dealing with. I only scanned the
surface so, your memories are still your own."
Xavier eyed her suspicously then said, "From your recent demonstration I gather that you know how to use your abilities?"
It was Xierra's turn to be suspicious. "Why do you want to know?" she asked.
"I am the founder and mentor to many of the students who attend my school for the gifted. The students here are taught how to
control their powers so that they can use them to protect themselves and not harm anyone by accident."
"I know how to control my powers, to a point." she said.
"Professor." said Beast.
"Right, May we continue our chat after Beast has checked you over?" asked the professor.
"Alright."
*
There was a soft couple of knocks on Xavier's door before Xierra entered. "Your students told me where I could find your
office." she said closing the door behind her.
"Before we begin," the professor started, "you know my name, but I don't know yours."
"I am so sorry, It's Xierra." she said apologetically.
"Xierra, I can't say I come across the name often." he said.
"My family has a thing for odd names. Not to be rude but you didn't call me here to ask about my name." she pushed.
"No I did not, what happened in the inirmary just now was quite incredible. I am a telepath myself and have learnt how to block
my mind from being probbed by another yet you broke down the walls I had set up in my mind without me noticing." he said
leaning onto the desk.
"Well don't be to impressed, I can only do it sometimes."
"But you can still do it. I know that it is sudden but please, I would like you to enroll as a student in my institute, let me help you
control your telepathic ability."
Xierra sat in amazement. Never in her life had she ever met someone that was so eager to help after only minutes of knowing her.
"I'm not sure, it is sudden."
"Take all the time you need." said the professor compasionately. "My doors are always open."

Xierra entered her apartment and played the messages on her answering machine. A small black kitten came running up to her.
"I'm sorry Sabian, I forgot your food." The kitten ran up to the fridge and gestured, with his paw, for Xierra to open it. you have
three messages the machine notified her.
She walked up to the fridge and took out a large leg of lamb and put it in the kittens bowl. "I'm sorry, it's not what I promised you
but." Xierra, you know who it is, where are you? the phone cut off.
message one, press one to play again, two to delete, three to save. Xierra let it continue as she slumped herself onto the
couch. Come on sweetheart, where are you? message one, press one to play again, two to delete, three to save. She
turned face up and dropped her keys on the table.
Hey, beautiful, I enjoyed last night just next time, don't bring those gate crashers. She bolted upright and ran to the
answering machine. How does he know this number, I'm not listed. She picked up the phone and punched in a few numbers.
"Yeah." the voice on the other end said.
"Schlang, I got your messages." Xierra said to her.
"Jesus Xierra, what the hell happened to you? I thought you were.."
"I'm fine, I'll explain it all to you when I come in for work tonight, just wanted to tell you that I'm fine." "Alright then, bye."
Xierra held the phone away from her ear for a while before putting it down.
She got up and locked the door, checked the locks on the windows then went to take a nice, long, relaxing bath. She got dressed
into a pair of thight black leather hipsters that bellbottomed slightly,
"Can't beat Gucci." she said to herself as she slipped them on, put on a tight fitting full length top with open shoulders and ankle
length spiked boots. She tied up her long black black hair that travelled down the length of her back into a neat, messy bun and
squirted on a bottle of her favourite eau de toilette.
Xierra was tall, about 6"2, had beautifully brown skin, a most alluring and firmly toned figure, long jet black hair and sparkling and
seductive emerald green eyes. If looks could kill, she would be a mass murderer.
She opened her cupboard and stood in front of it, trying to decide which coat to wear then pulled out a 3/4 Gucci trenchcoat.
"Can't go wrong with this one." she said.
Turning to her clock she realised she had taken quite a bit of time getting dressed. She quickly took her rucksack, opened her
drawer and threw in a few stakes and a cross.
Xierra was about to leave her room when, "Right, make up." She pun on her heel and jogged over to her dresser and grabbed her
chocolate coloured lipstick and lip gloss. "Bye Sabian, don't be a stranger, and leave the furniture alone." she said to a large black
panther that had just polished of the leg of lamb.

Mixers was the name of Schlang's club/bar where Xierra worked but everybody called it Schlang's. She pulled up to the front of
the club on her bike and parked in the alley. "Hi Franco." she said to the bouncer at the door as she entered a small open room
with a large UV light hanging in the ceiling.
"Hey Z, Schlang's been worried sick aboutchya." the man said in a booming yet gentle voice.
"I know. Who's workin' tonight?"
"Gin and Gerry." Franco answered.
"Those two girls? They'll tear the place apart." Xierra said jokingly.
"They already are." said Franco. Xierra walked in and saw a red-head dancing, on, the bar and a brunette pouring beer all over
herself.
"Z, over here!" Schlang shouted from behind the bar. She ran threw her rucksack over the bar and jumped behind it.
"You gonna explain what happened to you last night?" Schlang asked.
"Not right now no." Xierra said, taking off her trenchcoat.
"Fine then, take a customer and start mixing."
*
Business was as usual booming and the girls behind the bar were definetly working themselves to a standstill. "Don't you ever get
tired." one of the customers asked.
"Tired?" Gin asked.
She grabbed a bottle of tequila, took a swig and kissed him. "Do I look tired?!!" she shouted. In a spontaneaus act, Xierra or Z
as she was known at the club had dragged the girls onto the bar do a routine they had made up, a gaggle of man whistled and
shouted as they did so, all except one.
Xierra back flipped, cartwheeled backwards, grabbing a bottle of bubbly then flipped off the edge of the bar to the stage just next
to it. By now all eyes were on her so she didn't need to call for attention. She walked up to the mic and detached it from it's stand.
"Alright people, I'm happy tonight!" she shouted into the mic then gestured to Gerry who knew exactly what she meant.
"And what do I when I'm happy?"
LET LOOSE!!! the crowd shouted. Xierra nodded, shook the bottle then sprayed it on the crowd at the same time as the
sprinkelers shot out streams of gin.
"WHOOOOHOOO!!" Gin and Gerry shouted in unison. Xierra climbed back behind the bar and continued serving drinks,
alcohol pouring down her body.
She had just served a Sling when she stopped at her next customer. "Remy?" she asked. "Soir, madmoiselle." Remy said with a
bow of his head. "You didn't tell Remy dat you work at de hottest club in town."
"No I didn't." Xierra shouted over the noise.
"Nice dance." he complimented her.
"It's what brings in the customers." Xierra said handing Schlang a shaker.
"Not so, 'tis de beautiful ladies dat bring in de customers, de male ones anyway." said Remy looking straight at Xierra.
"If you're trying to flirt with me Monsieur Le Beau, it's not working." she lied. "What'll you have?"
Remy stroked his chin. Xierra smiled at him and took out a bottle of dry gin, which she threw up into the air, taking out a shaker
as it spun around, seeming to hang in the air, took out another bottle as she caught the first and spritzed them in at the same time.
She then grabbed a bottle of tequila and one of orange juice, added the tequila, took out a glass which she filled with ice, poured
in the mixture and added the juice. "Gentle Ben, you'll enjoy it."
***
"So, you live at the school?" Xierra inquired as she and Remy walked down an empty street. "Oui, I'm one o' de teachers der." he
said. "I'm sorry but somehow you don't strike me as a typical teacher." said Xierra with a chuckle. "It not a typical school." They
stopped in front of a diner and decided to go in.
