January 1-6  New Year's Eve was spent at Rodney's brothers & sister-in-laws new home. We had a wonderful time with plenty of food, drink and festive atmosphere! New Year's Day was a quiet day of the guys watching football & great family time! Time is running out for our stay in NY! We apologize if we weren't able to see as many people as we had hoped to, but between the weather and wanting to spend time with our kids, time quickly slipped away! Hopefully summer time will give us more of an opportunity to "catch up" with old friends! January 6 - Thank goodness the weather cleared and our return flight to Phoenix was on time etc. We were greeted with warm and sunny skies in Phoenix!!  The past few weeks have been very nice and despite our terrible bout with the flu for a whole week, we are having a great time doing some sight-seeing in the area. A trip to the Mesa Pioneer Museum, a Swap Meet in Phoenix and the Botanical Garden provided wonderful days of enjoying some culture in Phoenix. We also had a great time cheering for the Buffalo Sabres at the Sabres vs Coyotes Hockey Game. We were hoping that the banner we made would make it's television debut, but unfortunately, they didn't catch us in action! The game was especially exciting because the Sabres won!! A great time was had by all!! Bike riding, water volleyball, golf, and playing the horses at a local bar (what a dive, but so much fun cheering for our favorite horse!) and attending a few of the functions in the Resort give us plenty to do. Hardly have time to continue with our addiction to the dice game called Farkle, which is a favorite of MJ! Our scrapbook of travels is coming together nicely since I usually work on it when Daryl is playing golf. Melanie gave us a beautiful Creative Memories Scrapbook and Daryl shopped thru her inventory for some nice additions to "spiff up the scrapbook"! I've had a great time working on it and it's been fun reminiscing of all of the places we have seen so far as I put the scrapbook together! The end of the month and the end of our stay here in Phoenix is quickly approaching! We leave this area on Monday 1/27 and head toward California with stops in Quartsite, Desert Hot Springs, Indio, Julian, and on to San Diego. I am looking forward to our stay in Desert Hot Springs and the opportunity to finally meet a friend I have made thru The Garden of Friendship. Dawn and I have been corresponding for over a year now, and we are finally going to meet one another! We both are very excited about it! San Diego catches us up with some more friends from Western NY. Principal buddies of Daryl will be in San Diego attending a conference, and we will be spending some time with them and their wives!
