Phil's Universe
This quilt is living with my Dad and is one of the couch sized quilts that I made. I actually started on this quilt just after I finished Scott's Quilt in September. When I was still living at home, my Dad and I would fight over who would get to curl up in his army blanket. (smile) His blankets of choice were getting pretty ratty and *needed* to be replaced. I had to chuckle at him though .. When I was working on it, he asked me when I was going to make a quilt for him - LOL!!!! Gotta love it! |
Comfort Fish
My friend Mary had some adjustments coming to her life and I would be to far away to be of much use outside of e-mail .. I wanted to let her know that someone was thinking of her and cared (smile) |
Veggie Garden"patch" Work
I started this quilt for Kyle in April of 1996 - It was my first attempt at applique and I liked it until I saw the buttonhole stitch and realized that my machine doesn't do it .. (grumble) ... I opted to use a blind stitch (machine stitch - not hand) instead ... it was close but not close enough .. This quilt almost became my first UFO .. Kyle suddenly showed an interest in it and that's what saved it.

Kyle N Quilts
Here's a few pics of Kyle with his quilt ... In this pic he actually went upstairs and got his quilt .. normally he grabs my first quilt to cuddle with ... I guess he likes it (smile). And of course when I was taking a picture of his quilt - he had to get into the act What a ham! Judi inspired this picture of Kyle and his quilt. |
Sew Unique
This quilt is a square-in-square lap quilt - I used this designed for the majority of my quilts for Christmas this year. I free-motion quilted sewing machines in the larger squares as my Gramma "D" is a sewist herself. Unfortunately, the free-motion isn't very obvious in this picture (or in any of the square-in-square quilts). This quilt is now happy in Florida. |
Fish
This one was for my cousin Erica. I did fish for her for the quilt design in the larger squares ... |
Matthew's Quilt
This one was for my cousin Matthew. I wasn't sure what to do for a masculine quilting design so did a variation of a clover leaf .. thought it would be masculine enough for a teenager (grin). |
Wing It
Scott's sister Stacey, just loves the Detroit Red Wings. Scott thought it would be a great idea to make her a quilt with their logo and the Stanley Cup in it .. After doing some thinking I opted to do a 9-patch type block (this block measures 27" x 27"unfinished - lol) We got the Red Wing logo and the Stanley cup from one of the sites on the net and I printed the logo on muslin. I hand painted all the blocks in this quilt and also hand dyed the red that is in this quilt as well .. Needless to say - this quilt is a wall hanging .. this quilt was the last one that needed to be finished come Christmas day night .. good thing that Scott's family didn't get together until December 26th! |
Jerry's Quilt
Here's another quilt that was a challenge to do quilt wise .. just what sort of pattern is good for a man anyways!?!?!?!? |
Linda's Lap Quilt
Here's the last quilt that is with the sqaure-in-square design .. Linda being a cat lover, got kitties on her quilt again .. although they are hiding so they can jump out at the mice in the corners without being seen ...
