BIOGRAPHY:
All of this is based on the earlier assumption that the Thomas Masters who married Ann and had five children in Staverton between 1720 and 1734 was the same Thomas Masters who was christened in Badby in 1695.

Thomas Masters was born in approximately 1636, probably in either Badby, Northamptonshire or Wolfhamcote, Warwickshire.

His parents are likely to have been John and Elizabeth Masters of Wolfhamcote. A John Masters was baptised in Badby on 18 April 1630. He was described as the son of John and Elizabeth Masters. It is very likely that this was Thomas's brother. If this is the case Thomas's parents would also be John and Elizabeth Masters. Wolfhamcote Parish Register (a nearby parish) records a marriage of a John and Elizabeth Masters on 21 January 1631. There is also a marriage in Badby on 9 December 1666 between Orphilla Masters and Richard Renur. Orphilla is likely to be Thomas's sister.

Other possibilities for Thomas's parentage include the birth of a Thomas Masters in 1638 in Wolfhamcote born to Mary Masters and Thomas Goode. The child may have taken the name of the mother as he was born out of wedlock. Other possibilties include the recorded marriage of Thomas Masters and Mary Warist in Wolfhamcote in June 1621. This Thomas is recorded as the son of John Masters, of Flecknoe.

Thomas married Margaret Rushall and they had at least two children; John christened in 1662 and Thomas christened 1663, both in Badby. I don't know if he had other children. John was was christened on 25 March 1662 and was buried on 28 March 1662. Thomas was born on 12 March 1663 and christened on 17 March 1663.

A burial is recorded in Badby on 27 January 1701 of Thomas Masters. His wife, Margaret (also known as Margot), was buried in 1707 as a widow.
