Well taken goals
from RizalYob and Sham helped MVFC beat Lanun FC 2-1 at MSN Field Bukit Jalil
today. Buoyed by the recent performances by Liverpool, the majority of MVFC
players (who are non-MU fans) approached this game with a clear, simple and
effective strategy against the younger opponents. MVFC could have won it with
a bigger margin, if not for some poor Drogba-like finishings by the strikers,
who obviously do not support the Scousers. It seems that the EPL sentiments
had some negative effects towards the team's performance today.
After taking a
two-goal lead, the players took their feet off the pedals and simply passed
the ball around in the middle of the field, with some sporadic and blunt attacks.
Mauzi tried his luck by doing a Messi, but he failed to dribble the fifth player
in a row, which resulted in the opponent's consolation goal.
After the game,
some players had a lenghty discussion on the current political, financial and
economical situations over a sumptous dinner at Awan Besar R&R. "Burst",
"nice fats and figures", "Elizabeth's Wong pics", "pronotons"
and "Kopi Jantan" were some of the keywords during the discussion.
