The Terry Sanford Bulldogs were successful in the 4th Annual Pirate Preseason Invitational held at Pine Crest Country Club on March 9, 2006.  They recorded a team best at the event capturing The Pirate Cup, and The Two Rivers Championship.  Medallist of the round was also won by Scotland High's Scott Bennett..
The Pirate Cup is awarded annually to the team that has the best four man score of the one day event. Jack Britt High won The Pirate Cup in 2003, the inaugural year. The Pirate Cup was in the possession of Cape Fear High in 2004, and Lumberton High captured the title last year. This is the third year in a row that The Pirate Cup will stay in Two Rivers Conference.
The Robeson Cup is awarded annually to the Robeson County team that has the best four man score of the Pirate Preseason Invitational. Lumberton High has won the Robeson Cup each of the four years of the event.
Each year, the school that has the best four man score  in each conference represented is crowned the Conference Champion of the event.  There are four conferences invited each year.  Schools from the Midsoutheastern, Tri-Six, Two Rivers, and Waccamaw conferences attend and compete for their respective Conference Championship.
