| The Pirates were successful in the 3rd Annual Pirates Preseason Invitational held at Pine Crest Country Club on March 1, 2005. They recorded a clean sweep of the event capturing The Pirate Cup, The Robeson Cup, and The Two Rivers Championship. Medallist of the round was also won by Lumberton Senior Matt Kenney. |
| The Pirate Cup is awarded annually to the team that has the best four man score of the one day event. Jack Britt High won The Pirate Cup in 2003, the inaugural year. The Pirate Cup was in the possession of Cape Fear High after capturing the title last year. This is the first year that The Pirate Cup will stay in Lumberton. |
| The Robeson Cup is awarded annually to the Robeson County team that has the best four man score of the Pirate Preseason Invitational. Lumberton High has won the Robeson Cup each of the three years of the event. |
| Each year, the school that has the best four man score in each conference represented is crowned the Conference Champion of the event. There are four conferences invited each year. Schools from the Midsoutheastern, Tri-Six, Two Rivers, and Waccamaw conferences attend and compete for their respective Conference Championship. |
