Marwan: Example of Faith

Marwan, a soon-to-be suicide bomber, provides a different perspective how suicide-bombers think. Many think of them as brainwashed, manipulated into doing something because of a lack of intelligence. But that is not the case. Suicide-bombers are intelligent, reflective people who are willing to fight and die for Islam and to free Iraq of its oppressors. This goes beyond patriotism and “calculated risk”. This is Faith.

The document of Marwan showed me that Faith doe not have to mean Catholicism or Faith in God. Rather it could mean that you are Muslim and Faith in Ala. We refuse to see the person behind the mask, only as a evil person, someone that can not be reasoned with. Maybe we can’t reason with them, but we can at least see them as a human being instead of demonizing them into some radical Sunni that is some nut promoting an agenda.
