General description:
Numbers are preceded by a leading 0 where applicable (e.g. H02, F09). H: The H01 is the main east-west route through the whole country. H02, H03 and H04 are the main roads from Kathmandu, to Hetauda and Birganj, the Chinese border and Pokhara respectively. The H05 connects the H01 and H04 and H06 runs from Sindhulimadhi to the Indian border. The H07 - H14 are all north-south routes linked to the H01 with numbers increasing from east to west. The H15 branches off the H14. F: Numbers occur in clusters but there are no zones. The F01 is near Chandragadhi in the southeast corner of the country, and numbers F01 - F17 are all near the H01. Numbers increase to the west. Most of the higher numbers are further north. The highest known number is F51 near Silgadhi. New Asian highway numbers have been assigned, but these probably do not appear on signs. | ||||||
