General description:
Primary roads: Route 1 is the main road between the capital San Jose and the border with Nicaragua. Route 2 goes from San Jose to Panama. Route 32 connects San Jose and Limon on the Atlantic coast. Other roads are less important. Secondary roads: In both zones, numbers are generally higher further away from San Jose, but there are exceptions. For example, the highest known numbers in zone 1, 166 and 167, are in San Jose. These could be recent additions. Tertiary roads are usually not sufraced.
