General description:
The National Highways N1 to N5 and N8 are the main roads from Dhaka. The N6 and N7 branch off the N5 west of Dhaka. The 1-digit N numbers define the zones for all other numbers: the areas around the Nx is zone x. Numbers with 3 digits are less important. The Nxyz is always linked to the Nx.
Regional Highway numbers increase further away from Dhaka within each zone.
Zila road numbers are numbered with the same zones as N and R numbers, but numbering for zone 1 begins in the southeast, in the Chittagong district. There is some clustering, mainly among numbers with the same two first digits.
