In 1998, in conjunction with our Silver Jubilee and in commemoration of the 25 illustrious and fruitful years which have so swiftly passed us by,  the Malaysia Airlines Pilots’ Association proudly unveils to the world our new logo and corporate colours - a new look and image truly reflective of our objectives,  aims and aspirations,  and a new look and image which sees us flying high into the next millennium and beyond …..

MAPA’s  new colours and logo - an elaboration :

At the core of the new logo is a stylised symbol of an ultra-modern jet aircraft in a deep blue hue,  and this is surrounded by three concentric overlapping ellipses which are presented in adjacent shades of grey.

The Graphics :

  • The stylised symbol of an ultra-modern jet :
Goes upwards and is skewed to the right,  denoting the progressive, proactive and forward looking nature of MAPA, in line with its firm commitment to remaining at the forefront of the industry, poised always for growth.

  • The three concentric overlapping ellipses :
Represents the joint effort and teamwork of all the members and the Executive Committee of MAPA, towards the realisation of its objectives, aims and aspirations.

They are also designed to represent the 3 axes - X, Y and Z - denoting a 3-dimensional approach and lateral thinking concept which are favoured by MAPA over a more conventional and traditional mindset.

The central section of the motiff where the planes of the 3 ellipses intersect and where the jet is poised for take-off represents the global vision and rapid progression nature of MAPA.

The Colours :

  • Deep Blue :
A very corporate colour which denotes strength, steadfastness and precise judgement.  The deep colour also conveys wisdom and reliability.

  • Grey :
A neutral and friendly colour which blends perfectly with blue.  It also conveys solidity and dependability.

The Typography :

  • A very modern Serif font which has curves and strokes which are Asian in flavour.  The type is demi-bold, denoting the strength of MAPA.
