Promise of Forever
      Chapter 4
 

Michelle is pacing the floor at the lighthouse. All of her thoughts are of Danny, "come on Danny, call, call. I need to know what's going on this is driving me crazy. That stupid "wedding" should be over by now. She checks her cell phone that Danny gave her for what seems to be the millionth time, "darn it, it's all charged up, the ringer is on, why doesn't he call?"

Danny steps out of Towers and begins walking. Thinking to himself, ok, Santos, what now? Where are you going? He lets out a half laugh/half sigh, you know where you want to go, but you can't go there, it's too soon. But, there is something I can do, at least I can hear her voice, he thinks to himself pulling his "Michelle" cell phone out of his pocket.

"Damn it Danny call me!" Michelle screams to no one at all, in just that instant her "Danny" phone rings. She smiles to herself, well, someone must be listening to me, she thinks.

"Danny"

"Hey, Baby"

"What took you so long to call? I've been going crazy waiting to hear from you."

"I'm sorry, I had to get away from the Witch first and that disgusting bridal suite."

Michelle sucks in her breath…"The bridal suite? Your kidding me right?"

"No, baby, I'm sorry I'm not. She actually thought she could seduce me."

"Danny…"

Danny cuts her off. "Honey, don't worry, nothing happened and I didn't kill her yet, but lets say I seriously injured her ego and her pride", he says laughing.

"I knew there was a reason I loved you so much, tell me what happened."

They continue their conversation, Danny telling her all about Theresa's attempt at seduction, and everything he said to her. Michelle can't contain the joy in her voice.

"Danny, I wish you were here right now, just so I could give you a huge kiss. I can't believe you said those things to her!"

"Well, I don't know if it was my smartest move, she was pretty livid when I left, but I have to tell you it sure felt good!"

They talk forever about everything and nothing at all, all through the conversation telling each other of their love for the other. Neither wanting the conversation to end.

"Baby, I don't want to do this but I have been gone for over 3 hours and it's late, so I'm sure she's asleep now, so I better get back there. It may be awhile before I can come see you, I'm going to start to work tomorrow on getting the information I need about Bernardo's business to bring both he and Theresa down, and the sooner I get it the better for us."

Michelle is trying to hold back her tears. "I know, you need to go, before she sends the goons out looking for you. You promise me to be careful, don't get caught, don't let her drug you, keep Jimmy close by at all times. You have to come back to me Daniel Santos, you promised me a life together, and I'm going to hold you to it! I love you."

"I love you too, never forget that, and we will have our life, very soon."

"Bye Sweetie"

"Bye Honey"

They both hang up clutching their phones for dear life with tears rolling down their faces unchecked. As they stand their aching for their other half, the each raise their eyes to heaven, and offer the same silent prayer.

"Please God, give us the strength to get through this, and keep us safe.
