The top colour must continue down the hair shaft to the skin with no fading - some breeds however are more known for having faded undercolour and should be penalised accordingly to how much it differs from the top colour. |

The self breeds are known for having a nice short face, large bold eyes and beautiful drooping ears - some breeds who tend to have a nice combination of these would be in the self blacks, creams and PE whites |

Common Faults seen in the Self breeds: fade in undercolour (undercolour not matching the top coat colour), dark pigment, belly not lying straight, long coats, small, high set or torn ears, lacking type (short blunt nose),foreign hairs (hairs of a different colour). |
