Any recognised marked cavy can be satinised, as long as it conforms to the Australian Standard for that breed. |

As with most marked breeds, it is quite hard to get the markings / patches of colour in the correct places, so because of this there are not that many marked breeds being satinised. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
A beautiful example of a not to commonly seen satin dalmation (this one is chocolate agouti). This cavy "Renaissance Russian Roulette" went onto become a Double Champion and some of his career highlights include 2 Best in Show and 2 Reserve in Show wins. Photo by owner / breeder - Matt Gardiner, Renaissance & Tantras Stud VIC, Australia. |

Often what may happen is the markings are correct, but with poor satinisation, and vice versa. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The most common marked breeds that are satinised are the himalayan, however the occasional satin dalmation is seen. |
