Any breed of
longhaired cavy can be satinished, as long as the cavy still conforms to it's appropriate breed standard.
Left is a beautiful satin coronet "Corimar Harpo" bred / exhibited by Steven Reid of Corimar Stud VIC

Very few longhaired cavies that are satinised are exhibited in Australia - due to the fact that the satin gene makes the hair incredibly soft and fragile, and with the hair growing so long it often breaks of and ruins the "show" coat.
Right is "Champion Christy's Bea" a satin sheltie exhibited by Barbara Sidwell,
Le Squeak Stud SA

Often a satin longhair's hair will break or split at the ends, and owners / exhibitors must pay extra attention to the coat as to not damage it.
Left is "Murindah Cookies 'n Cream" a young satin sheltie owned by Julie Brewer, Pipsqueak Cavy Stud, NSW
