Any recognised
crested cavy can be satinised, as
long as it conforms to the Australian Standard for that breed.
left is a lovely example of a crested pe white "anmor folly" owned by Jo Livingston, Canberry Stud NSW, Australia.

Although any cavy breed can be satinised, some breeds show the satinisation better than others - for this reason, many of the darker breeds are not being bred to be satin - such as the crested black.
above is a satin crested saffron cavy, a not so commonly seen breed. "Anmor Edwin" Owned by Michael from Atta-Singh Stud, QLD

The satin self must still conform to the regular crested standard for the appropriate breed, however the satin gene does seem to darken the coat slightly, but only a shade.
A photo I took of "Lavender Lodge Iridium" a satin crested cinnamon agouti, owned by Simone Schenscher Lavender Lodge Stud, NSW Australia

Sometimes when looking at a satin self, the coat appears to be different shades, more time then none this is not the case - it is just the light reflecting off the coat at different angles and showing the satinisation at different intensities.
right  is "Canberry Caprice" a satin crested himalayan owned by Emma Gulliver at Emarda Stud, NSW Australia.

The most commonly seen crested breed that is satinised is the
crested PE whites, and also some crested ticked and crested himalayans.  Of course there are other breeds, but not so common.
left is a satin crested golden (dark eyed) "Llyn Dinas Zalika". Owned by Lina - HeavyMetal Piggies
right is a photo of a beautiful satin crested silver agouti that I took at the 2004 DCC Championship Show in Victoria "Anmor Silver Vagrant" exhibited by Steven Reid, Corimar Stud VIC, Australia
