| The story starts out with a young girl, Sarah (Jennifer Connelly). She is in a park playing out her favorite book "Labyrinth". Suddenly she hears a nearby clock chiming 7:00 and rushes. When she gets home her step-mother is waiting on the front porch for her. The step-mother starts complaining about Sarah being late. Sarah and her step-mother get into an arguement and then Sarah rushes up stairs to her room. Sarah has to stay home and babysit her half baby brother, Toby (Toby Froud), while her parents go out for the evening. |
| In fury, Sarah wishes Toby away "I wish the goblins would come and take you away...right now!" She walks out of the room in time to hear Toby stop crying quite abruptly. She goes back in the room to find Toby gone. Suddenly a barn white owl, comes flying into the room from a window, doors of a private balcony. The owl struggles with Sarah for a few moments and then flies away from her only to become a man, The Goblin King, Jareth (David Bowie). |
| After Sarah's parents leave, Sarah realizes that someone had been in her room again because her favorite stuffed bear, Lancelot is missing. Sarah goes rushing to her parents room and finds the bear on the floor by Toby's crib. In the crib is Toby, crying. Sarah tries to stop Toby from crying. There was only one method she tried and that was tell a story. She started telling him the Labyrinth story. But Toby didn't stop crying. |
| The Gobin stood before and offered her, her dreams. But Sarah said she didn't mean to wish her brother away. In return Jareth gives Sarah 13 hours to solve his Labyrinth on her baby brother would become a goblin. Now Sarah had embark on a journey. Throughout her journey through the Labyrinth she meets 3 new friends and some foes to. Her first friend she meets him at the entrance of the Labyrinth, Hoggle - dwarf. Around the middle part of the Labyrinth she meets a big hairy beast, Ludo. He is very friendly. The third friend she meets in the bog of Eternal Stench near the end of her journey, Sir Didymous. |
| After meeting Didymous, Sarah falls into a spell by Jareth. Jareth made Hoggle give Sarah a peach that would make her forget everything. When Sarah's memory is gone, she is sucked inside of bubble - crystal that is throwing a ball. She starts searching for someone but who? Finally she saw a man, Jareth and then he disappears. Sarah starts looking all over the ball room for him. Finally she finds him and he doesn't disappear. He walks over to her and they start dancing. |
| Sarah realizes that something is wrong and she runs away from her dancing partner. The other dancers, try and stop her by crowding around but Sarah evades them. She comes up to the end of the ball room, bubble, and finds a chair to break it down. The ball room disappears and she falls into a land of junk. Still with no memories, she meets up with a junk lady and the junk lady shows her a room that resembles Sarah's bedroom. Sarah, after finding out that the room is not real, sees her "Labyrinth" book. She starts reading the last few lines and it jogs her memory. She now remembers that she has to save Toby. She escapes from the make shift room and gets back into the land of junk. But now she's at the gates to the Goblin City. Once inside the Goblin City, Sarah, Ludo, Hoggle and Didymous make their way to the castle entrance with some disturbances from the Goblin inhabitants. When they got inside the Castle, they get into the throne room Sarah see that she only has a few minutes left. She leaves her friends in the throne room and walks into the Escher room. Sarah and Jareth have their final show down. |
| Sarah and Jareth's final words <S>"Through dangers untold and hardships unnumbered, I fought my way here to the castle beyond the Goblin City." <J>"Stop!. Wait Sarah. Looking what I'm offering you. You're dreams." <S>"For as my will is as strong as yours and my kingdom is as great." <J>"I ask for so little. Just let me rule you and you can have anything you want. Fear me, love me, do as I say and I'll be your slave." <S>"My kingdom is great...my kingdom is great.....................................You have no power over me!"
