Pittsburghia

Asteroid 484, Pittsburghia, was discovered on April 29, 1902 by Maximilian Wolf at Heidelberg, Germany. It has a period of 4 years, 130 days and is about 23½ miles in diameter.

It was named for the city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, an old-time industrial city where telescopic lenses were made by the person who named the asteroid, John Brashear.
