Pax

Asteroid 679 Pax was discovered on January 28, 1909 by August Kopff at Heidelberg, Germany. It has a period of 4 years, 58 days and is about 38 2/5 miles in diameter. Pax was named for the Roman goddess of peace.

Astrologically, Pax indicates pacifism, wanting peace and quiet, not wanting to rock the boat or make waves, conservatism, resistance to change, "stuck in the mud", stultifying conformism.

To make an omelet, you have to break eggs.

These indications of Pax are readily observable in Prince Charles, a quiet, introverted, decorous, conservative man who has Pax prominent, conjunct Mars and Jupiter, in the fifth house. He also has it semisextile Pholus; undecimal Pandora; quintile Neptune and Ixion; square Chaos; trine the Moon, Varuna and Hidalgo; and opposite Uranus. Born to be king of England, he has exhibited the role's stiff formality and decorum, staunch conservatism and unsentimental political treatment of relationships, yet he has dealt well with change when it has been forced upon him.

Welcome to Pleasantville, where everything is just copacetic. Right? You better think so!

Joan Baez, veteran folk singer and peace and human-rights activist, has Pax in the eleventh house of politics, cusping the twelfth, semisextile Chaos, semisquare the East Point, septile Venus, sextile Hylonome and Varuna, quintile Mars, tredecile the Moon, trine Pittsburghia, sesquiquadrate the Vertex, quindecile Vesta, and opposite the Part of Fortune.

Greta Garbo, legendary mid-20th-century film star who abruptly withdrew from Hollywood into seclusion with the terse statement "I want to be left alone," had Pax in the sixth house, undecimal Ixion; square Uranus and Don Quixote; trine Jupiter, Chiron, Pallas, the Ascendant, and the Part of Fortune; biquintile Saturn; quincunx Damocles, opposite Pholus. She was reportedly a tightly closeted lesbian. Johnny Carson, a legendary comedian and talk-show host who withdrew totally from TV after his 1992 retirement and was reportedly known for his penchant for careful scripting and aversion to on-air surprises while host of NBC's "The Tonight Show," has Pax in the tenth house, cusping the eleventh, undecimal Don Quixote; decile Mars and the Black Moon; sextile Mercury and Pandora; square Venus, the Vertex and Phaethon; trine the Moon, Jupiter, Asbolus, and Pholus; sesquiquadrate Chiron; and contraparallel the East Point.
