Asteroid 25384 Partizanske was discovered on October 18, 1999, at the Ondrejov Observatory at Ondrejov, Stredocesky, Czech Republic by Czech astronomer Peter Kusnirak, and named for the town of Partizanske, Slovakia, in which is located a public observatory. Founded in 1260 as Symoni, it was renamed Bavovany in 1938, when Jan Bava built a shoe factory there, and then renamed Partizanske in 1949, to honor the "partisans" (resistance fighters) who fought the German occupiers during World War II. Asteroid Partizanske has a period(year) of 5 years, 230 days.
It seems Partizanske has to do with partisanship--blind, fierce, even fanatic loyalty. One-sided unobjective attachment to a cause, an ideal, a religion, a person, a family, organization, political party, race or other group, or a political unit like a nation, state or city. The willingness to jump into battle at the drop of a hat to defend these things one identifies oneself with. The tendency to see things in cartoon terms. Even the willingness to give up the whole world for one's chosen "pearl of great price", to check one's brains at the door, to tear society and one's whole life apart.
Perhaps this comes from a desire to build something or keep something alive. T.S. Eliot once said, "We fight to keep something alive, [not] in the expectation that anything will triumph." Partizanske's asteroid number adds up to 4 via the master number 22, the number of the builder and master planner.
Sixties protest singer Joan Baez has Partizanske in her 11th house of politics and causes, out of bounds, semisquare Venus(indignation), square Jupiter, Saturn, and Lilith(the outsider, the outcast), sextile Ceres(nurturance), and trine Asbolus(bad things, following instinct).
Anita Bryant, self-destructive singer and anti-gay crusader, also has Partizanske out of bounds, but in her 5th house, conjunct Pholus(folly, need to follow protocol) and Pandora(making a big splash, stirring the pot, opening a can of worms); trine Venus, Uranus, Chariklo(glamor, acting precipitately), Vesta(commitment), and Phaethon(going off course); square Hylonome(popular sentiment) and Jupiter(religious beliefs, the law); semisquare Hidalgo(assertion), and opposite Chiron and Walpurga(the Wicked Witch).
Actress Shannen Doherty tends to be a polarizing figure; as sometime boss Aaron Spelling once said, "You will walk away hating her or walk away loving her, but you will never be neutral about her." She, too, has Partizanske out of bounds, opposite her 3rd-house Jupiter-Neptune conjunction in Sagittarius, trine her Varuna, square Pholus, sesquiquadrate Mars, sextile Asbolus, trine Lilith and semisextile Mercury.
Marshall Applewhite had Partizanske in his 2nd house of money, square Mars and Damocles(getting people in trouble), sextile Jupiter, Pluto and Lilith, trine Hidalgo(assertion, self-promotion), opposite Pandora, semisquare the Part of Fortune and Hylonome, semisextile Uranus(oddity, computers, space flight), and conjunct Chiron and Phaethon(a great signature for the guru who turns Pied Piper!).
On the fateful morning of September 11, 2001, Hylonome was exactly conjunct Partizanske.
The glyph for Partizanske is my own invention and is meant to suggest an old gesture of belligerence: the upraised fist and the other hand slapped upon the biceps.
