Parkinson

Asteroid 10041, Parkinson, was discovered on April 24, 1985 by Carolyn S. Shoemaker and Eugene M. Shoemaker at Palomar Observatory near Pauma Valley, California. It has a period of 3 years, 199 days.

It was named for American aeronautical engineer Bradford Parkinson (born 1935), the "chief architect" of the Global Positioning System (GPS), whose creation he headed for the US Air Force in the 1970s.

The name Parkinson, however, is probably most closely associated with Parkinson's disease, a progressive neurological disorder first described by British physician James Parkinson (1755-1828).

Astrologically, Parkinson seems to indicate Parkinson's disease and other neurological disorders (including mental illness); working under a handicap..
