Monty Python

Asteroid 13681, Monty Python, was discovered August 7, 1997 by Milos Tichư and Zdenek Moravec at Klet Observatory near Cesky Budovice, Czech Republic. It has a period of 5 years, 61 days.

Asteroid Monty Python was named for Monty Python's Flying Circus, a BBC comedy show starring Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Eric Idle, Michael Palin and Terry Jones, which aired on the BBC from October 5, 1969 to December 5, 1974. It also featured animations by Terry Gilliam.

Asteroid Monty Python seems to relate to comedy, to making fun of things or people .

Monty Python formed close aspects in the charts of every member of the Monty Python comedy team:

John Cleese has Monty Python sextile Mars and sesquiquadrate Vesta.

Eric Idle has Monty Python on the Ascendant (twelfth-house side), also conjunct Pluto.

Graham Chapman had Monty Python in the third house, sextile Mercury, sesquiquadrate Chiron, and quindecile Vesta.

Terry Jones, the show's producer, has Monty Python in the first house, conjunct Saturn, sesquiquadrate the Midheaven and opposite Juno.

Terry Gilliam, who specialized in comic animation, had Monty Python in the sixth house, square the Sun, trine Mars, quincunx Chiron, and opposite Juno.

Michael Palin had Monty Python in the first house, semisquare Venus, quintile the Moon and trine the Midheaven.

Other comedians:

Steve Martin has Monty Python in the seventh house, trine Mars and Uranus (zany, bizarre).

Robin Williams has Monty Python in the sixth house, semisquare Ceres.

Pop music parodist "Weird" Al Yankovic has Monty Python conjunct Mars, semisextile Jupiter, sextile Saturn and quincunx the South Node (also semisextile the North Node).

Richard Pryor, who made his name with on-stage profanity and race-based humor, had Monty Python in the twelfth house, quincunx Pluto ("dirty", cathartic) and opposite Juno (the disadvantaged).

Margaret Cho, who had to struggle to get away from basing her entire act on her racial background, has Monty Python square Neptune (confusion) and Pallas and quincunx Chiron (self-wounding, healing).

Cheech Marin has Monty Python square Ceres (family, race, nurturance) and Pluto (criminality, reinventing oneself).

His former comedy partner Tommy Chong has Monty Python quincunx Pallas (politics).

Lenny Bruce, whose vulgarity-laced act led to reforms bringing laws governing public performances more in line with the First Amendment, had Monty Python in the fourth house, on the IC, trine Juno (rage of the dispossessed) and sesquiquadrate the Moon (the public) and Venus (values).

Silent-film comedian Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle, whose career was virtually destroyed by accusations of sexual misconduct, had Monty Python sextile the North Node and trine Pallas and the South Node.

Jay Leno has Monty Python in the twelfth house, tredecile Neptune and quincunx Uranus.

David Letterman, whose show, like Conan O'Brien's, tends to trail Leno's "The Tonight Show" in the ratings, has Monty Python in the seventh house, sextile Mars and Ceres and quintile Pluto.

Conan O'Brien, who had to fight hard to break into the ultracompetitive late-night talk-show field, has Monty Python semisquare Mars and sextile the Sun.

Some cartoonists:

Cathy Guisewite, creator of the comic strip "Cathy," which tends to focus on women's trials and tribulations, has Monty Python quincunx Venus.

Charles Schulz had Monty Python sextile Venus and Pallas (conceptualization).

Garry Trudeau, whose strip "Doonesbury" takes a decidedly political approach, has Monty Python conjunct Saturn, semisquare Ceres, and square Pallas.

Also, Ed Wood (born October 10, 1924, in Poughkeepsie, New York), whose films were funny without meaning to be, had Monty Python square the Sun and biquintile Neptune (motion pictures) and the South Node.

The glyph for Monty Python is mine.
