Magüi couldn't with the shells of Rezai

Aravane Rezai, of French nationality, didn't allow Magüi to finish with a win her happy comeback to the competition at the ITF Ciudad de Telde Trofeo Casino Las Palmas. With the desesperation of the player of El Cortijo, the 19 years old Iranian and 180 in the WTA ranking converted in terrifying 'shells' all the balls she hit with her drive and backhand.

However, the match had started with a break in the initial game for Magüi and with the hold of her serve. That, however, was a mirage once Rezai equalised the advantage of the Canarian in the 4th game and lead the match to finish the first set with a new break in the 10th game, after 35 minutes.

In the second set Magüi was trying her best but she could do nothing. The irregularity in her serve and the strong strokes of her rival didn't let her find a way to impose her slice. She tried to vary her game, but without the timing to unbalance her rival, who won the set and the match with breaks in the second and sixth games.

GRATITUDE. When the match ended, Magüi had words of gratitude to the crowd, for the affection and support that they had shown in the five matches that she had played, and also to Narciso Reyes for giving her Wild Cards to play at El Cortijo and Fuerteventura. She also had words of appreciation to her family and her coaches Fernando García Lleó and Juanjo.
