INTERVIEW CORAZÓN CORAZÓN

(Translation from TV Programme:  Corazón Corazón)

This is a part of a Magüi's interview in the TV programme Corazón Corazón.

Magüi: But later is a thing that you see when you get used to travelling in the circuit, and you see that everything is normal and that everyone makes mistakes.

In only two years you have reached the place number 22 in the ranking, everything by sacrificing a lot in the trainings and sacrificing your childhood and adolescence.

Magüi: While maybe other girls go out or meet in groups or do usual things for the people between 14 and 18 years old, a person who is in the professional world of any sport, has to sacrifice a lot more in the timetables, I think.

A hard life that has its recompense when you hear that you can be the ‘substitute’ of Arantxa and Conchita, or when you see that your family is proud of you.

Magüi: I’m very grateful to all my family because they have supported me in every moment, in the good and bad moments, because everyone has his/her runs of bad luck. And they have always helped me and in fact, they still help me, and I hope I will be able to recompense them one day for all these years they have sacrificed for me.

Although in Barcelona, city where you live, you have found a home, you miss your Canarian land.

Magüi: A lot, I miss it a lot, especially because of the cold in the Peninsula.

Nowadays she studies in Catalonia, in a university specialised for sportspeople, and she dreams of becoming one of the great women names in tennis.
