"You've got to be crazy!!" Trici hissed and spat at the Weyrling Master. The man sighed and went to touch her shoulder. Trici flattened her ears and hissed again, scratching at him.
"OW!" The man swore under his breath and glared at the light-brown-rider. "You're going to have to, I don't care what you want."
"I -will not-." Trici continued to growl. "You can't make me!"
C'mon Trici, it's not that bad. The light-brown dragon shifted uncomfortably from foot to foot. He didn't like the fights Trici seemed to continously be getting into.
"You're supposed to be on my side!" Trici hissed at her lifemate. The Weyrling Master made a grab for her, but the half-feline was faster. She leapt to Mikanth's back and growled at him from there.
Of course I'm on there side. We're doing what's best for you. Mikanth laid down so the Weyrling Master, and several of the other weyrling-riders could get at her.
"NO!" Trici faught and struggled, but there were too many of them. "It's not best for me! It's not-" She was cut off as her mouth filled with water. They'd thrown her into the lake. She came up hissing and sputtering to widespread laughter.
You mean you've never had a bath before this? The light brown dragon leapt into the water beside her, splashing her again.
She growled under her breath. "I -hate- water."
How can you hate water? Mikanth began playing with some of his other clutchmates. I love it.
Trici climbed onto her lifemates back in a vain attempt to try and dry off. I can clean myself. I don't need to be submerged in this shardin' stuff.
I do. Mikanth dumped his rider. The Weyrling Master told you you'd have to get in the lake and give me a bath.
Trici sighed and grabbed the scrub brush and began to clean Mikanth's light brown hide. As she ran her hands over every inch of his body, she forgot about the water and how much she hated it. She marveled in the fact that this growing dragon was hers.
Mikanth rumbled deep in his throat. That feels nice...
Trici purred. Does it love?
The dragon's eyes whirled deep blue. Should we head back?
Trici had lost track of time as she had actually began to enjoy this 'bath' thing. "What's the rush?"
Mikanth seemed amused. The sun is setting, we've been here several candlemark.
"Really?" Trici, in her surprise, spoke aloud. "Doesn't feel like it."
Admit it. Her lifemate pulled himself out of the lake. You enjoyed that.
Trici snorted as she climbed out after him. She shook herself dry and began licking her fur. "Not in the least. It was wet, cold and uncomfortable."
Then why did we stay in so long? Mikanth called her bluff. All the others left. You took so long.
"I was only being thorough." Trici walked on all fours towards their weyr. "Speaking of which, do you need oiling?"
Not right now. Mikanth followed her. So you only braved that horrible lake for me? And you only stayed in for me? Mikanth climbed onto his bed and laid his head down.
Trici curled up beside him. "I'd do anything for you Mikanth..." She yawned as they both fell asleep. "Even get wet."
Mikanth smirked. I didn't know you cared so much rider-mine. He wrapped his tail around her and fell asleep.
