Takisha and Mandaleth

Once you get past Takisha's personality, she's really a nice person.

Weyrwoman Magika

Takisha stormed into her weyr. She immeadiately picked up a pillow and threw it at her dragon. The gold/white raised it's head and smiled at it's rider, knowing well what she was mad about.

What's the matter, Takisha? Mandaleth asked calmly.

Takisha glared at her lifemate. It was the common belief at Adanuk Weyr that Mandaleth and Takisha bonded for the simple goal of driving each other crazy. They always seemed to be fighting, but if anyone ever suggested that they were a bad match, they'd both get defensive and claim they were very happy together.

They were an odd couple, neither of them really normal. Takisha stood 5'6", with brown eyes and silver hair. According to Takisha, it was her natural hair colour, but nobody believed her. Takisha is very outspoken, bossy and has very little patience for those who don't learn quickly. She picked up new concepts and new training very quickly and expected others to as well.

Mandaleth is a gold/white mix. She's about the size of a normal green, and not treated as a queen. She's very outgoing as well, but in a different way than her rider. She likes helping people and gets along with almost everyone. The only person she doesn't seem to get along with is Takisha.

Mandaleth continued to play dumb. I honestly don't know what you're upset about.

Takisha threw herself onto the dragon couch beside the small dragon. "You told Hyth, and Weyrwoman Magika, that I said I'd be happy to teach weyrling courses."

Mandaleth nudged her lifemate, a smile on her draconic face. You mean you don't like teaching?

Takisha glared again. "You know I can't stand it. I don't have the patience."

I could have told you that you don't have patience. Anyone could have told you that you don't have patience.

Takisha threw her arms up in the air. "And yet you volunteer me."

Mandaleth snorted at her rider. I like teaching.

Takisha sighed and lay back on the dragon couch. "Great. All settled. You teach, I don't"

The gold/white sighed and nudged her rider with her head. Think of it as anger management training. If you don't kill any of our student, you pass.

Takisha covered her head with a pillow. "Great. You tell Magika that."

Mandaleth smiled again. Somehow I don't think she'll find that comforting.

Takisha laughed. "I got it. I'll sit around glaring at the new riders and you teach them. If anyone does anything wrong, you send them to me. I'll be the disaplinarian."

Mandaleth laughed. Somehow I don't think Magika will find that comforting either. The dragon realized her rider was really nervous. Although amazingly outspoken, Takisha didn't like speaking in public. She was fine if she was arguing the finer points of flying with a group of other riders, but teaching some new guys... They'd be hanging on her every word, waiting for her to screw up. Mandaleth sighed. It won't be that bad Takisha. If you screw up and they laugh, just refuse to teach.

Takisha rolled her eyes, but inwardly smiled. Sometimes it was nice to have someone around who could read your thoughts. You didn't have to say anything embarassing. "Like that'll do anything. Name one person in this Weyr, other than Mala, who likes going to lessons."

Mandaleth smiled. She knew that Takisha was caving. Besides, if anyone laughs I'll eat them.

Takisha rolled over, so she was laying right beside her dragon. "You'd do that for me, love?"

Mandaleth curled her neck around next to her rider. She let Takisha scratch her eye ridges. Of course rider-mine.

Takisha yawned. Argueing was tiring work. Not to mention it was well past sun-down. "I thought dragons found eating people degrading, love."

Mandaleth realized her rider was falling asleep. She herself moved slightly and made a mental note not to turn over in the night. Takisha drifted on the edge of consiousness when Mandaleth's response came to her. I'd do anything for you, rider-mine.

Right before sleep overtook her, Takisha thought quietly to her life-mate. And they say we're a bad match.
