R'ydon and Sweeth

"Can I say, just for the record, that I think this is a bad idea?" Nu'lin looked at the assembled creatures that he was somehow supposed to get from Alskyr to Pern. His dragon quickly reminded him that he was going to be the one transporting, and, as all Nu'lin was was another passanger, he should shut up.

R'ydon smiled, as quietly confident as ever. "We've talked about this a thousand times. We both agreed, as well as Weyrwoman Magika, that Sweeth and I could serve at Adanuk Weyr with you and Confondreth. We also both agreed that it would be good for Sweeth and I to learn to fly on Pern, opposed to here on Alskyr, finally..."

Nu'lin raised a hand to silence his boyfriend and to rub his temple. "When do you get to the part about Confondreth carrying two men, a weyrling cream, a flit and a bird/cat?"

Iyou, the alissgryph, promptly snapped his beak down on Nu'lin's fingers. It had never taken a liking to anyone but R'ydon. Even Gnarl and Sweeth had to be careful around the tempermental creature.

"OW!!" Nu'lin fought back the urge to boot the thing. "Stupid shardin' ibissinian alissgryph!" He glared at R'ydon who was quietly chuckling. "What?!?"

R'ydon stopped chuckling and settled for a grin. "I remember when that used to be foreign language."

Nu'lin glared. "Ha ha." He shoved Gnarl, R'ydon's granite flit, off his shoulder, snatched it from the air and dumped in in the other rider's lap. "Keep your pets to yourself!"

"Fine." R'ydon over-acted his displeasure, picked up his flit, called Iyou to him and walked towards Sweeth, his cream lifemate, who was starting to feel a little out of the conversation.

Don't you come over here unless it's to tell me we're leaving for Adanuk! The cream sat down, eyes swirling a light red.

R'ydon rubbed her head, knowing that he was forgiven already. Soon love, soon.

I doubt that grey/blue brute can carry us all anyways!! Thinks he's better than me! Thinks I can't between!! I can carry you, Gnarl and Iyou! Although we'd be better off if we left the shardin' cat/bird here! The dragoness' tail twitched back and forth angrily, like a cats.

R'ydon realized that Sweeth was even more annoyed than usual. He often wondered why his lifemate was in such a bod mood. Love, we don't know where Adanuk Weyr is. Nu'lin's just worried this won't work because he cares for us.

If that sorry excuse for a dragon would just give me the co-ordinates I could get there on my own!! Sweeth's eyes were becoming a darker red. I'd be surprised if Confondreth even remembered where the Weyr is!!

Nu'lin looked over at R'ydon, and raised a brow questioningly. Confondreth had obviously been privy to Sweeth's opinion of him.

R'ydon shrugged and tried to rub Sweeth's eyeridges. "Just calm down. Tell me what's bugging you."

The dragoness glared at him. MEN! Sweeth stormed off towards her dragoncouch, leaving R'ydon completely confused.

"What was her problem?" Nu'lin ducked Iyou's beak and knealt beside R'ydon.

The creamrider sighed. "Beats me." R'ydon sighed. "I don't think I'll ever understand women."

Nu'lin smiled. "Ray, you're preaching to the choir."

R'ydon watched his lifemate storm off to their new home at Adanuk Weyr. After much sweet-talking and begging the cream dragoness had lowered herself to ride Confondreth between, but she wasn't going to stay around for him to act all protective and, well, manly.

MEN! She bespoke loud enough for R'ydon, and even the little granite flit, to cringe.

R'ydon looked to Nu'lin for help. Iyou followed the dragoness, which was probably a good thing since neither Nu'lin nor Gnarl had the patience to fend off the alissgryph and deal with a proddy cream.

Nu'lin shrugged. "I know I used to get frustrated being around females all the time, maybe she feels the same way around men."

R'ydon smirked, thinking of the ways Nu'lin's last sentance could be taken all wrong. "And here I thought you liked me."

Nu'lin glared and turned red. "Maybe she's beginning to see how immature you are and is regretting her decision."

R'ydon laughed. "Sorry 'lin." Gnarl chirped at a beautiful green flit sunning herself. Without waiting for his rider's permission, the granite decided to introduce himself. Nu'lin and R'ydon decided to check in with the Weyrwoman.

"Maybe you have a point." R'ydon restruck the conversation as they headed for Magika's office.

"Hmm?" Nu'lin had obviously forgotten what he'd said...besides of course the fact that R'ydon took it wrong.

"She just needs some female companionship...so she doesn't go crazy..." R'ydon was beginning to see how spending all her time around a fully grown male dragon, two male riders, a male flit and even a male alissgryph might be a little frustrating for a female weyrling.

"All girls are proddy when they're teenagers." Nu'lin smiled and hoped no girl he knew heard the comment.

"Yeah," R'ydon grinned. "Maybe she just needs someone whose emotions are as crazy as her's."

"And that's obviously not you considering you have the emotions of a rock." Nu'lin grinned back.

R'ydon's smile faded. "I think I'll go check on Sweeth. You tell Magika I'm here and I'm in my weyr." He spun around and headed for his new room.

Nu'lin was left alone in the hallway, with Confondreth's laughter echoing through his mind. "I'm really not doing well today."

*Meow* A feline strolled into the room, confident as all cats are that it would be welcome.

Sweeth looked up from her dragoncouch to see it sit in the doorway and purr. She snorted at it, letting it know she was in no mood for games.

The cat calmly ignored the much larger dragon and made itself at home. It licked it's paw once or twice and continued on to the dragoncouch. Once there, it ignored Sweeth's hints to leave, and rubbed it's tail along Sweeth's nose. The dragon sneezed. The cat leapt and hissed. Sweeth smiled.

What's your name precious? The cream began to think that maybe the feline was not evil.

The cat only purred in response. It rubbed itself against the dragoness again and laid down on Sweeth's leg.

Lucky, Nu'lin's female feline, listened patiently as Sweeth ranted on about the general stupidity of men, and, when the two girls were tired, Lucky slept beside her larger friend.

Sweeth? R'ydon entered his weyr after making up with Nu'lin, worried that the dragoness would still be angry.

Yes rider-mine? Sweeth opened her faceted eyes and they whirled a deep blue.

Are you feeling better dear-heart? R'ydon headed for the dragoncouch, curious as to why Sweeth had fur on her. The feline looked at him, blinked twice and returned to her nap. "Lucky?" The cat looked familiar.

I'm fine rider-mine. I've never been better. I'm just tired. Sweeth closed her eyes and waves of love washed over R'ydon. He was not only forgiven for whatever he'd done, he was paid back for any hurt she'd caused him.

R'ydon sighed, leaving the cat where it was and heading for his own bed. I will never understand women.

That's okay. Sweeth was obviously amused. I'll never understand men.
