Atlantis:
The Sutherland Expeditions

Character Bio

An adventurous child from the moment she could crawl. She was always looking for something or someplace to explore, usually it was a place that was off-limits to not only her but also the rest of the general public. She was always getting hurt and being taken to the hospital, which was less than five minutes away from her home. Her parents thought that was the best place to live because of her always getting hurt while living in Phoenix, Arizona where she was born. She often involved the few neighbor kids in her adventures until she was about thirteen. After that she wanted to have her own adventurers like Indiana Jones.

She always fancied herself as the next Indiana Jones. She never really cared that he was a fictional character portrayed by Harrison Ford, but that he had a different adventure around every corner.

When she was sixteen she got a job, with her father’s help, at the museum that he worked at as an assistant to her father. Even though she had this job she didn’t treat it as such. When her and her father went out into the field she would disappear almost immediately after arrival.

Living near or practically at the Grand Canyon, Evelyn would disappear into the many ravines and chasms exploring everything. Many times she would wander onto looters stealing ancient Indian artifacts. Somehow she always managed to get away from the looters and tell the local Indian agencies of the archeological site.

Although, there were a few times when she was caught and held at gunpoint. She always got herself out of tight spots though no matter how deathly or crazy the situation.

When she graduated high school surprising her mother and all of her teachers she went on to college to study archaeology and graduated with honours. She took a two-year no vacation time schedule to get her basic studies out of the way to leave some time to explore the world before continuing her education. (She worked at the school while going to classes and just barely finished her two-year program when the school asked her to stay on.)

Evelyn didn’t get to travel, as she had wanted though. Her parents were hurting for money along with the museum she so she stayed behind at her job. She worked at the college in Phoenix first as an aid to the various Archaeological professors while taking her own classes and then when a professor died suddenly the school asked her if she would take the position until they could hire someone else.

A year passed and still they hadn’t hired anyone. One day she received a call while correcting term papers from a Mr. Jean-Michaels inquiring about her studies on Atlantis. He told her he would pay for the expedition on one condition, that he would have his own team of experts accompany her. Evelyn agreed readily and left a week later with a replacement sitting at her desk in the classroom.

This is just a sample of Evelyn's bio before the expedition to Atlantis started.
