STAY TUNED!  "MAGNIFICENT SEVEN DATELINE" IS NEXT!

Me:  Hello again, fans and friends.  Tonight on "Magnificent Seven Dateline," I will interview the local saloon manager, Inez Recillos.
Ms. Recillos, thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to answer my deep, thought-provoking questions.  <snort>

Inez:  It's my pleasure.

Me:  So Ms. Recillos, you are perhaps the newest citizen of Four Corners.  What brought you to this particular town?

Inez:  I was not looking for this town particularly.  I was running from my past and this town was far enough away from that.

Me:  So, the outstanding law here didn't influence your decision?

Inez:  No.

Me:  Let me ask you about Mr. Wilmington.  Why don't you like him very much?

Inez:  It is not that I do not like him.  He just has a head the size of an over-filled pinata.

Me:  Okay.  But don't...

Inez:  Don't get me wrong.  I am grateful that he fought for my honor, I am just not interested in him in that way.

Me:  Some people believe that you and Mr. Standish would make a good pair.  How do you feel about him?

Inez:  I am grateful to him and his madre for giving me a job, and I do admit he is a handsome man...

Me:  But?

Inez:  But I do not condone his gambling habits, so I could not be courted by him.

Me:  Good.  When you first arrived in Four Corners, you were satisfied with just tending the bar.  Suddenly you became the manager of the saloon.  Were you surprised?

Inez:  Oh, yes.  I never dreamed anyone would trust me enough to run their business for them.  After the incident with Don Paulo, I thought I would always be on the run.  So becoming the manager was like a wonderful dream.

Me:  Since you brought him up...Didn't you know that Don Paulo would track you down eventually and get revenge on you for what you did?

Inez:  I knew he would try to find me, but I never imagined he would search so tirelessly for me.

Me:  But you worked for his father for a long time.  Surely you knew what kind of man Don Paulo was from the times you saw him in Mexico.  So surely you knew how ruthless he could be?

Inez:  Well...no, I didn't.  I knew he was mean, but...

Me:  Here's my theory.  You wanted Don Paulo to find you in a town where the outstanding law would fight for you.  So you accepted the job as manager and waited.  Yes?

Inez:  No.

Me:  Oh.  Well, okay, I was wrong.
What was that food you cooked up for Ezra that he declined?

Inez:  Spanish rice, beans, and a spicy beef concoction wrapped in a flour tortilla.  The spicy beef was a recipe I got from mi madre.

Me:  I see.  Now, let's review your past.  You cut Don Paulo's throat with a broken bottle, banged that old cowboy's head on the counter...you seem to resort to violence an awful lot.  What else have you done to free yourself from unpleasant situations?

Inez:  I use whatever is nearby, whether it be a broken bottle or a horseshoe, to save myself.  In this day, women must make use of their strength, because men don't suspect you have any.

Me:  Strength, you mean?

Inez:  Si.

Me:  One more question before I go.  Do you think the Magnificent Seven will ever fight their way back on the airwaves?

Inez:  What are 'airwaves?'

Me:  You know...television.  Will they come back to the viewers who love them so true?  <Oh lord, I can't believe I just asked that question again>

Inez:  Perhaps.  They are working out a strategy right now.

Me:  What is it?

Inez:  I don't know.  They don't confide in me.

Me:  Whew!

Inez:  <grabs a towel and swats my head with it>

Me:  OW!  What'd you do that for?!

Inez:  I felt like it.

Me:  @#$^%!

Thank you for tuning in.  I hope enjoyed this interview more than I did.  :-)
I have a very nice surprise for all you loyal viewers.  On my next show, I will be sitting down with the Magnificent Seven (yes, all seven of them!) and I will conduct a group interview.  Please check your local listings for showtime.
          Good night, friends!
