My Inner World

I am living in a world of insanity
Where demons rule and devils play
Tearing at my soul
Killing me more each day.
As the blackness comes
And the dark thoughts creep
I am scared
Of myself
And my evilness buried deep.
This murderous world
Which I so fear
Is my very own creation.
A creature of sin
I am my own worst enemy.
Living in this world of raging war
And endless battles
Fighting alone and defenceless
I shall surely die.
May my hope and strength be restored
I am not alone.
Out of the depths of despair
Shines a light.
The single burning flame
Of eternal love.
My God
My Saviour
Come to rescue me.
And now my world of plaguing death
Has no hold
Because of Thee
The Lord has given me ultimate life
In Him I've found victory.
