‘What will you dream tonight?’ The quirky in your face title of the art exhibition by local Fine Art Graduate, Jacklyn Soo asks the complimenting curiosity and lure of dreaming and day-dreaming. What goes on in your mind when we day-dream?

Jacklyn investigates this in a series of drawings in which she paints portraits of strangers and friends who share their dreams with her. In the same series, some of these characters are fictional characters create to portray and interpreted what some of her own dreams are.

Jacklyn also uses dreams as a metaphor in identity. To be someone you have always dreamt to be or to dream achieving your wants intrigued the Artist to create these pictorial images in her first solo show. There will be a short musical performance at the opening by the Artist’s own indie-pop band, The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party.

The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party is Wai Kit and Jacklyn. Formed in last then three months, the duo has been writing and producing songs of love, of lost, of memories, childhood, nature and peace. The name, Mad Hatter’s Tea Party was the inspiration behind a common affair with the psychedelic pictorial images of Arthur Rackham and Lewis Carroll’s elegant and sophisticated story-writing. Mad Hatter’s Tea Party emphasises on the enjoyment/attainment of all human emotions, of communication, of attending social parties, of making new friends, catching up with old friends, of spreading and sharing love and happiness all round.
